  4. Rest
Rest was all I needed or so I thought as the tired ran through my body choking my laughter and strangling my happiness. The tired was an ache surrounded by a void of nothingness. Rest until the days slip away, until feelings are numb. Toss and turn because the sleep will not come. How can I rest when my heart is exploding and my tears won

  17. Perhaps you are like the rest, just as your 3rd grade teacher yelled, after you spilled the finger paint water onto the floor and stood pinned to the spot when she said it, looking at the blot on the ground and your shoes. You know now from all the crime shows you’ve watched, the mess looked like a blood spatter.

  25. I feel like i never have any time to rest or take a break. Sleep? is that really rest at all. Not if your mind is not at peace. Rest must mean something more than the physical. Why be physically rested if your mind is in constant chaos, therefore making your life and your physical life the most complicated of them all.

    by Punahele on 06.20.2009

  32. I really need some rest. The Captain put me to scrubbing this foredeck as the sun was coming up. He thought I needed a lesson. I pretty the one needing the lesson was him. He should not have holding that girl’s wrist’s like that. Her daddy would not approve, I suspect. It didn’t matter now, they would be in port by Tuesday.

  35. Resting is a time to put your mind to sleep. Resting is a time to put your time and place inside your brain. Resting is when something stops in music. While driving down the highway, people casually stop at rest areas in order to rest up for the remainder of their journey. Movement and drama cause the desire to rest.

  37. Sometimes I need to rest.
Just lay down and close my eyes
We never have enough time to drop our work and dream.
We just need a break sometimes.
We all do, but we barely ever get it.
    I think it’s necessary.

    by Amanda on 06.19.2009
  38. oh methuselah
    when shalt thou rest
    peacefully
    eternally
    finally
in the comforting embrace of Death?

pursued by the dredges of man
    of lust
    of greed
    of desire
    for thy powers of immortality
    are truly a blessing.

  39. I needed to close my eyes, just for a minute. rest, they always said it was important. I hesitated, then curled up on the ground, underneath a tree. An hour of rest wouldn’t hurt. I could continue my search after that. Yawning wildly, I closed my eyes, still highly aware of everythign around me, unable to fully shut down and get good sleep.

  40. I spend my nights resting because I cannot sleep. I like to let my mind wander and my head get in deep. I’d like to have a day of rest where my eyes, they do not open, I’d like to see the back of my eyelids for maybe more than a second.
