    I sighed in frustration. Those endless ellipses, inserted into his catchy one-liners, always got under my skin. Why couldn’t he talk like a normal person? Why did he have to always confuse and belittle me? And, above all, why was he so damn brilliant at what he did?

  4. probable, probably, in all probability – such qualifiers. We’re so afraid of being held 100% to our word, or nitpicked, that we have t say things with one of these qualifiers in front of them. The human element has been removed from a process. This word eliminates the exception…at least, probably.

    She would probably get a concussion from running so hard into that metal pole. It surprised her though, he would probably remember her as that girl that helped me and ended up in the hospital cause of it.

  11. He was in love. It seemed strange to say such a thing even if it was just in your head but it was the truth. He was most likely and probably in love with her.

    Sure he thought he’d never get over his ex-wife’s cheating ways but what the hell this girl was different. It wasn’t that his w-his ex was the complete opposite of this girl or that this just might be a rebound. It was because she just laughed at one of his cheesiest jokes ever.

    His ex NEVER laughed…at all…with him…

  12. It is probable that things will never work out the way you want them to. I mean, you could try to kill that word – probable – and replace it with something nicer like “most likely” but that will most likely not happen. Hey, it’s life. And life is probable to do that.

  13. The probably outcome of shooting an eLazer inside a metallic dome had not occurred to him. Later while having his burns treated he glowered at the nurse. The pain was one thing but the parade of other nurses she had brought in to “confer” with was NOT amusing.

  15. It was quite probable that I had already written about such a word earlier, I just couldn’t remember if I had. In fact, my memory quaintly remembers this word from about 10 minutes ago.

  16. I was only so sure of my acquaintances abilities. In fact, it was quite probable that he knew more then I did, but then again, so did my wife. When we entered the building guns blaring, I knew for sure he had more capable hands then mine.

  30. It is improbable that I will get an A in my Philosophy oral exam tomorrow. For a number of reasons. 1) I did not prepare enough, 2) I don’t really give a damn about the results, 3) I don’t think that guy gives As on oral exams anyway.

  31. Probable, as in likely, or as in some twisted odd of fate. Is it that chance some isotope will decay on time on half-time?

    But hell, even God only knows, it could never decay, defying damn the curve.
