  1. Everyone, everywhere, even the girlies. Makes it difficult to quickly recognize my co-workers, as they are all wearing plaid and beards(most of the girls don’t have beards). Is it just a Colorado thing? Maybe plaid has swept the nation, like Bunco.

  2. Intense colors…different patterns the way it ought to be. Spontatneous Plaid. Yet simple. Old school style makes me wanna look ike a limberjack. Paid. In with old and still with the new!

  4. Plaid. His plaid shirt. His plaid pajama pants. He did everything he could just to wear plaid every day. Multi-colored plaid. Pink plaid. Purple plaid. He didn’t think he could, but he’s a fucking trooper! My god, how can I say this in any other way? He’s my man. My husband. My love. Everything I’ve ever loved in the whole entire world. I don’t think I could do any better than him. Do you?

  5. Daaaaaarlin’? Yes? Would you have a spare cigarette, per chance? Why certainly… Also, how would you care for a little bit of magic. That’s how the conversation went before she pulled the baggie from her plaid coat. A claustrophobic design. Wall to wall stripy

  6. It’s the soft feel and gentle smell of the flannel that had you nostalgic. You really screwed up this time but you really miss her. It’s only been a few days but you miss her more than anything. So you have to try. And that’s why you find yourself in front of her door. You don’t really have a speech planned but then again she always did appreciate a little spontaneity. Your hand raises up to knock on the door.

    It’s now or never.

  7. plaid is usually made for mountain men and cowgirls. it doesn’t look good on me especially since I had to wear it for all of my life in catholic school. it does look good on attractive males though. lots of annoying girls in high school used to wear plaid outside of school but they never looked good in it, they thought they did though. it reminds me a bit of little lines passing each other, waiting, trying to avoid everything they ever knew about each other but they can’t because they will always be entertwined. it’s always that way.

  11. “Plaid? Going with the catholic high school girl theme?” He fingers the skirt’s fabric between two fingers, tugging it down. His other hand slides up, creeping over the edge of a knee-high at an ambling pace. Pressing close to Tei’s chest, he savors the way the other’s heartbeat picks up speed, the way those fingers tangle themselves in his hair. “Looks good on you,” he murmurs, to which he gets a ‘fuck you’; the laugh he gives back gets muffled in the kiss he paints against Tei’s neck. “I think I’ll leave it on…”

I can hardly remember my name as I leave the house this morning… Don’t think in English… Don’t think in English… SHIT… I’m going to fail this Spanish test. It’s not even until I get to school that I realize I’m wearing PLAID. Of all the things I could randomly throw on, plaid?!? What is wrong with me today?

  16. Hmm. I saw a plaid skirt today. I would have bought it if it wasn’t so thick and itchy. I had plaid shorts in the sixth grade…… god were those a mistake! Plaid always seems to be a really good decision or a really shitty one. Depends on the particulars I guess. Ehh, not much to say about a style of fabric. Lines is all it is.

  17. weird word, that one. checkers. skirts. hooligans. kilts. Weird. Definitely extremely weird. Suddenly I’m thinking of a man in a skirt with a bagpipe. A plaid skirt. Hmm… rather bad imagery there…. Uh oh

  18. Tartans, Scottish kilts, lunch box thermos, plaid coolers, picnic blankets, fishing shirts, pleated skirts, bows at Christmas, bows on newly washed dogs, tams.

  19. It was the plaid skirt, I decided, that ruined the outfit. I felt too typical, trapped in this horrific ensemble chosen by soccer moms and superintendents. Who in the world thinks plaid skirts are flattering or even fit for a school uniform? It’s for conformity, and I didn’t believe in it. Not one bit. I am born to stand out, beyond this world and its plaid.

  20. It is striped and checkered at the same time. Lumberjacks wear this, so do grungies. I wear it too. I am a lumberjack. I am large. I wear plaid. <3 I love you.

  23. What is plaid? I don’t know what is plaid coz I think Im suck at english class. But there’s no time to check it at dictionary. So what am I doing here? or am I just wasting my time. Oh God, there’s nothing I wanna do or not my intention too. What’s my purpose there? Just wasting my time.

  24. It was the day, I felt it coming, it was possible…I knew it. I opened my closet door, and it was there, just like he said it would be, I opened that door and I saw a plaid shirt.

  25. plaid is a ska kind of pattern. it just works better that way. sorry for the lowercase, by the way, i’m just not in the mood for hitting shift. but, back on subject, plaid. plaid is a ska kind of pattern. i’d really like to emphasize that, especially considering that grunge likes to pretend it has any claims to it. we’d all like to disagree.

  27. Plaid. The Plaid Pantry in Portland, Oregon. We used to sit there and spange and use the bathrooms to brush our teeth. Plaid. The pattern my mother hates more than any other. I happen to think that it is quite lovely. Girls in men’s style plaid button up shirts are pretty cute, if you ask me. Plaid. There’s a pattern I can get down with. It’s relaxing… but damn is it hard to find the right plaid!!! I got the perfect plaid shirt, and ripped it a week later. I got caught on a plastic lawn chair that was cracked, and nobody helped me free myself. Thanks, guys. My plaid, and I, suffered for your giggle-fest. But it looks way cooler now with that patch on it, SUCKERS!

  29. People at college wear plaid. It’s the cool thing. Plaid flannel, to be specific. It represents the grunge, hippy scene. Like, I’m cool enough to chill. It’s weird, then, to come back home and see that the majority of the world wears sophisticated clothing. Clothing that doesn’t signify, “I’m a lumberjack.”

she made him buy it. black and grey, button down. she sighed with delight the first time she saw him wear it.

  34. punk rock kids love plaid. this is the universal stereotype. cowboys also love plaid. it just depends how you where it. like a hick or a grunge kid from the 90s. i love plaid. but only on shirts and bed spreads. plaid pants are a little much for me.

  35. Their family tartan was a mixture of reds and grays and greens, a cloth worn by generations and generations before him. Today was different than many other days, however; it was very rare for Ian to put on a kilt, but he would make an exception today as he stood together with his uncles, brothers, cousins — kinsmen. A row of plaid stretched out along the hill.

In the distance, bagpipes played “Amazing Grace” as they lowered Ian’s father into the ground.

  36. He was wearing a plaid shirt on the first day that I met him.
I don’t know why I remember that detail, specifically, but it was a flannel one, blue and red, nice and fitted. I gazed at it when I was trying not to gawk at his face.

  37. He wore a plaid shirt, black jeans, and no shoes. He took a sip of his vodka, and threw his shot glass on the floor. He grabbed his jacket, and stomped through the bar. He then slammed the door on his way out, forgetting his cell phone. Oddly enough, he never came back for it.

  40. He wore his stained tattered sun ripened weathered
Plaid shirt with pride for it was the only one he had.

He worked hard for every cent piece that bolt of cloth
The shirt used to be was worth. His wide
Whom he had brought our west with him had sewn it
Together to cover his back. She admired that although
He could appreciate her stitchery and handiwork,
He would give that shirt off his back to any stranger, friend
If foe who had need of it and the act would only cause her Love
And respect for him to flourish that much more.
