  1. This is a thing that high school classes use. Sometimes college. You put transparencies on it and look up on the whiteboard to see it. You turn out the lights to see it better. It makes me think of old things. I get tired when look at overheads. School.

  7. over­head the lights gleamed, then flick­ered into dark­ness. the peo­ple sighed in dis­ap­point­ment, echo­ing the wind as it tried and failed to enter their strong­hold. the cats yowled; no one noticed. they were all hungry. lean faces stared toward the place that light had been, hungry as much for the illumination as they were for actual food. but they had neither, now. the final darkness was now upon them.

  15. Overhead is the sky, underneath is the water, inside all is cold and unfeeling. He floats on his back in the pool, looking at the stars. He is alone save for his thoughts (or would be, except he isn’t thinking). If he wanted to, he could sink to the bottom, sit on the floor, and see what the sky looks like through water. Maybe he wouldn’t want to come back up.
    She watches him from her perch in the tree. She wants to join him, but doesn’t want to disturb him. She thinks he looks peaceful, floating alone.
    His loneliness rises like a mist over the pool, just out of her reach.

  21. they make me angry. I think of my language arts teacher. Who is extremely boring. but then I also think of my Wheel of Culture teacher. who is really cool. I like her alot. She’s one of my favorite teachers.
    Overheads simbolize my boredom in school. i dont know.

  24. I remember when the world ended. I looked up and saw things falling from the sky. We were living in an old home and we had a bunker. And I’m not stupid. I knew those were bombs. I ran and hid. I knew my family wouldn’t make it. I was the only one home. Stayed sick from school, even though it was only the last week. I was lazy like that. the last week is boring anyway. Now I never get to finish that last week. Everything is dead now. Everything is dirt and dust, and broken.

  26. From my desk, I could tell what was happening. She was at it again, blabbing away at the sort of meaningless thing she found enthralling for that day. In this instance, it was the plight of the English language in the face of modern technology. Her overhead display showed us the types of examples she couldn’t bare to tell us herself, and the same examples were under my desk and on the cellphone I was texting on. lol

  27. There was a jet overhead. The sound was deafening. I knew where they were going. They were going to drop bombs on our enemies. Protecting us so we wouldn’t have to fight them on foot. We never see any action. They always take care of it and then we sweep through and find nothing. I hate war.

  38. Like an overhead projector. my old science teacher used one. now everyone had whhite boards, or those smart boards that are attached to computers. my school spent a ton of money on smart boards, they should have just spent in on air conditioning.
