  3. i always think of how much morality is based in religion. the answer is simple, true morality is not. Religion is a structure, a framework of stories not too different from Aesop’s fables. True morality comes from within.

    by kathy manning on 10.04.2011
  5. What is morality? I dunno, that’s for you to answer, not me. Don’t look at me like that I know you want to figure it out just as much as I do. Is it all relative? Do we, as humans, have morals ingrained in us or do we grow them as we ourselves grow? Are they give to us? I dunno.

    by Hayden on 10.04.2011
  6. oh boy. heavy word today. morality. really? how do i quickly right about such a weighty, broad, deep subject? it is no small thing. it takes up too much space, on paper (ok, computer screen) and in my mind. times up. whew!

  7. she lived in a world of morality. Honesty was a given. Kindness was something you couldn’t live without. If one was to ignore his or her required morals, he or she was to be sentenced to death. But how is that fair? She thought. We are taught to be kind and good, yet we kill those who make a mistake? Was it for the greater good, or was it because our society is afraid of anyone who will not conform and think for themselves?

  8. morals right? well you need em. or else you’re just a slut or druggie or a terrible friend/person. it makes people suck or makes them great. you wont have any success without it. at all.

  12. Is there a defining moment for morality? When I get my chance to stand in front of the pearly gates, have I done enough & been a good enough person for acceptance?

My biggest fear as a parent is raising a child with no morality. There is nothing more aggravating than seeing an inept parent try to undo the damage of a child with no morals.

Morals certainly aren’t the only thing that makes a person good……

  13. Do you stick to your morals? Most people don’t. Their morals change with age, situation and the people you hang out with. When you’re a child, you stick with your parents morals, as you get older, you create your own. That isn’t always the right choice, but hey, we all have to learn, right?

  15. Have you noticed that morality and mortality are very close? Just a T-square of difference between them. A barometer of truth, conscience, a harness to humanity. Knowing the right thing to do. Knowing how it relates to who we are. More a matter of heart than head.

  16. Morality. That’s deep. Who’s to say what it is? Everyone’s sense of honor is slightly different. Morality is very personal. Although it helps to have rules everyone agrees on…

  17. difficult, needed, obvious, learnt from grandparents before parents, passed on to children knowing it will be from my parents

    by kim Butcher on 10.04.2011
  18. What is morality? Does being mortal really mean I’m not invincible? Yes, I suppose it does, in a sense. What is invincibility, though? I know it’s the ability to never die–but what does that REALLY mean? Marilyn Monroe is invicnible. Along with Michael Jackson and George Washington. So does mortality really mean I’m a mortal, or does immortality mean I will live forever, maybe not physically, but in the hearts of people for centuries to come?

  19. I live by my morality.
People define me by my morality.
I stand in defiance to those who believe
my race, sexuality, behavior, and life choices
cannot constitute to a greater morality
in the society we live in.

    How will you define morality?

  20. It was right, wasn’t it?
I did the right thing. I’m sure I did. But then again no. It can’t have been. Not under those circumstances. And they were… and he was… No.
    It was wrong wasn’t it?

  21. Looking back, I wouldn’t say that what I did was right. But it felt right at the time, so I don’t regret it at all. But what he did? He did it with no feeling at all. He did it with carelessness and late night stupidity. I put my all into everything we had; he let us drop without a second thought.

  22. this squirming black form
    within me
leaves a trail of slime down
    my arms and chin and
all my footprints are charred fossils
    under weeds.

it will not let me see it.
    but i can feel
the kicking of its legs, unborn
    and distorted, in time
    with the thrashing
    of my heart.

    i broke
    my fingers on nights
    where there was no moon.

  23. God is good. Values. Good vs Evil. What is morally correct? You hold morals from childhood deeply engrained in yourself. The way you act determines what kinds of morals you have. If you do bad things, then it is bad morally but more in a religious sense.

  24. He was closest to her heart,
    closer than the blood that
    passed through it.
    With him, her mortality
    just a dream before
    the wake of
    moments that would
    never die,
    only fall asleep
    in the intricate
    borrows their bodies
    would make.

    With him, her mortality
    just a dream before
    the wake of
    moments that would
    never die,

  26. The choices I made told you all the wrong stories about me. Psychologists say that women are less moral than men, but that’s because psychologists deal in black and white. I see what is there, and what could be, and I did what I had to do to make us all stronger.

  27. “Do you think morality’s blank and white?”

John stared at the street below him. He didn’t look behind him to see who was speaking to him. But he recognized the voice.

    “No.”

    “Why not?”

He took a deep breath. The colors of cars looked so inviting.

“Because I don’t think what I’m doing is wrong.”

  29. Everything has a moral, and everything has an ending. No matter how silly it seems, there’s always a reason behing it, always a story to acompany the story. And you also always learn a lesson, no matter how small it is, no matter how important it is. And I guess your wondering, what the moral to this story? Well, I wonder too.

    “What a waste”.

    by Delaine on 10.04.2011
  33. What is morality? Life, then death. Humans cannot fight this, the reality of how quickly our lives may end. In a minute, in a second, everything we had known, had been, would be over. And we would be nothing but a memory.

    by Taylor W. on 10.04.2011
  34. Morals. Everybody has them, and everybody’s are different. It’s a question of right and wrong. We use them to make decisions, or to justify our actions. But what do they really mean? Nobody can know for sure.

  35. Morality… Talking about morals, yes? When i initially saw this word the first thing I thought about was MORTALITY.. which is very different then morality.. i’d like to say its “opposite” but I think that would be innaccurate. my morals? sometimes I think I have none. I’ve done stupid things i regret.. but does that make it seem like i have morals because i regret ?

  38. He owns a movable sort of morality. The kind which sees fit to return dropped cash only if he doesn’t need it for washing laundry or a fresh cup of yogurt.

  39. Morality
I sure hate it when holier-than-thou folks try to shove theirs down my throat. I bite back! I also hate it when the powers that be try to regulate it. Does prohibition have a familiar ring? There are things that are moral and things that are not. I think it’s up to parents to teach that to their kids. But then, what about parents that show so little?

    by CameoRoze on 10.04.2011
  40. Morality. Really, its a pretty judgemental word. Because who’s to say what exactly is morally right or wrong?
