  2. the fist time I used a microphone in public I was thrilled. I didn’t know what to say, how to handle it or if it was working or not. I hoped it was broken. Now, some years later, I enjoy just the thought of it because I have become a singer.

  5. I’m quite afraid of microphones. The shear thought of one induces a slight sweat in my palms. Its the public speaking that gets me. You never know how you’re going to sound speaking into a microphone until its too late. Is my face close enough to the device? Too far away? I just don’t know.

    She nodded as if she understood, but the minute I got back to the sound board, it was evident that she didn’t get it. Or she wasn’t singing — I couldn’t be sure which. Why do they put people on the vocal team if they don’t like to sing?

It was such an honor to hear her share about Katie. It was a relationship beyond words, but she tried anyway. It was beautiful.

  38. Everytime I see a microphone I think of my favorite way to express my feelings, through music. Singing is my life, it’s the perfect way to take how you are feeling and express it. Music is an amazing thing because it can take all your feelings and sum it up in a beautiful way that truly expresses your feeling.
