  1. I am giving you my all. My love, my life, my everything. Why am I giving and not receiving? Do I mean that little to you? This…This is the last time I give…

by Ann Frida Jones on 12.25.2008
  2. Giving is important because allows people to help others. Most of the time, people find that when they help others they are truly helping themselves. Giving helps the giver as well as the receiver.

  4. giving is a thing that not enough people do, but it’s something that everyone should. You can give everything, just like you can take everything. What does it mean when you give a shit? I know it means to carew, but what does it actually mean? Does it mean that you wouldnt give someone a shit literally, or that you wouldnt take a shit, or what? I never understood that. And give can meen to give up, too. Like, that rope is about to give, meaning that the structual integrity is about to fall apart. So many meanings, but the thing I like best, especially considering that its christmas, is give in the sense of gift, because, honestly, who doesnt like to get gifts? Theyre just so beautiful, you have to love it.

  5. I gave a present to one of my friends. It was a pink elephant stuffed animal. I thought it was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, but I found out a week later from her mom that she threw it away. After that, I never talked to her ever again, and on her next birthday, I gave her a card that said “You can throw this away too”.

    by Chin on 12.25.2008
  6. Give and it shall be given unto you. Pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give unto your bosom.

This is what Jesus told his disciples and anyone who had ears to hear.

I find it interesting that his words still have meaning today. they have meaning because they are based in truth. a truth that God wove into the universe. Some call it Karma. Call it whatever you wish. But the truth is, whatever you sow. you reap.

  7. I wanted to give him a present. I mean, really, it was Christmas, for Pete’s sake!
But I couldn’t, no matter how much my heart tugged for me to do so. He looked so happy; I guess that was what he gave me.

    by jenni on 12.25.2008
  8. Give and take. Rule of improv, along with Goest thou with the Flowest thou and Violence kills the improv. I feel marginalized and alienated.

    by Jonathan on 12.25.2008
  9. Giving. It’s what christmas is about right? It doesn’t strike me as odd that everyone likes getting more than getting. Thats almost human nature now. What really strikes a discordian string within me is that people don’t GIVE all the time. Why wait for a SINGLE DAY to make someones day? And at the end of the year of all times…

    by Bear on 12.25.2008
  10. I love to give. Giving is all I wish to do. I decided a long time ago that my happiness was not important, as long as I gave everything I could to make those I care about be happy. It is Christmas day right now and it is all about giving. I received a present even though I was adamant that I did not was anything. I only love to give.

    by Matt on 12.25.2008
  11. I give of myself all that is possible
Sweet love from the depths of my heart
Fears ingrained in the corners of my mind
Dreams that have yet to be realized

  12. Give yourself. Don’t forget to always give little pieces, to leave little pieces–whether in good hands or not–and never regret it.

  13. give. get. forgive. forget.

    by vamps on 12.25.2008
  14. Give love. Give hope. Give a smile. Give a rose. Give everything you can afford. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. If you can but inspire a smile, you simply can’t afford not to.

  15. i want to give my friends something for christmas but i dont want to pay for it. i jokingly offered my guy friends blowjobs…. i think they want them. HA! merry christmas.

    by jackie on 12.25.2008
  16. Give presents. It’s Christmas time and everyone gives so much that it loses the essence. I don’t want stuff, I want things, things that I use, things that mean things. Spending thousands isn’t worth it. Spend a penny of something good. Maybe giving needs to be rethought.

  17. to give is the ultimate sacrifice, a gift from the heavens. let it be that those who partake in this gift of giving, be rewarded with the fruits of their virtue. For God is a good God who joyfully gives to those that love him.

    by jk on 12.25.2008
  18. its always better to give than receive. sometimes what you give will be shared with you, other times it wont, but giving just feels good. Its christmas today, so I feel its appropriate to contemplate the meaning of GIVE. But i guess it depends on what you are giving. Its no good to give someone a backhand, or a bad drug. Its good to give kisses, but only to your partner. Don’t give STDS. Do give joints.

  19. I don’t know how much more I can give.
    I feel defeated.

  20. giving, what is it? lots of people give, and take. but how many make a difference in the world? that’s the unanswerable question my friends… what difference do we really make. Many say none, many some a lot… i think ultimately we make very little difference in the lives of others.

    by Nehemiah Gillman on 12.25.2008
  21. kind, christmas, from the heart, gifts, time, love…giving comes in all different forms…sharing, with wanting nothing back.

  25. it’s time to give this year
somehow fewer and fewer people are listening
I keep hearing of lesser and lesser takes
from the charities who beg for money
even public radio in Chicago has gone
    into year-long begathon mode
didn’t they used to do stuff merely twice a year?

    by Don H. on 12.25.2008
  26. i give you my love, giving is all that is about christmas. it’s love, it’s giving someone something to show that you care, give = love. giving is a sign of friendship, a sign of love. i’d rather give than recieve. giving brings happiness. giving is love.

  27. Give. That’s the word for the season. Too many people are concerned with get. What did you get me? What did you get? We need to focus much more on “what can I give you?” Do you need more of me? Do you need my love? Do you need my caring, compassion, and concern? Whatever it is you need. I’m ready to give.

    by Lorrie on 12.25.2008
  32. Give, give, give. Always “give.” No one ever knows how to take; as if taking were a sin, a fatal flaw that dooms one to days of selfish, self-centered “me-ism.” If

  34. I make it a point to throw a couple of biscuts your way. You know i can’t resist those brown doggy eyes you give me, or the way you snuffle around for more. Puppy, you are really the cutest thing that walked on this block. I have got to give you a couple more treats while no one is looking

  35. give. don’t take. or perhaps we should take. but only taking what is necessary. that way, we can give until there is nothing left to give of the remains which were obviously not taken. however, this method is also innately selfish since we are taking before giving. so, to sum up. we should just give.

  36. something you do on birthdays, christmas, easter and to make people happy. but its better to give everyday. not material possessions but a smile or a hug. it brightens peoples days. it might brighten yours.

    by ashleigh on 12.25.2008
  37. I don’t know if that’s within me. But I try. I think the only thing I can say is that I am not that giving of a person. I hate that about myself. I have lost quite a few friends because of my lack of giving.

    by Kenny on 12.25.2008
  38. To give is to express the worth of someone through material means. What a word to appear on Christmas day, the day where giving is meant to be the essence of the day. As a kid though, it’s all about getting cool shit and then showing it off to your cousins and stuff. Now it’s just more about taking pleasure in your family and the people that love. Celebrating what you have with each other the relationships your share.

    by foshizzle on 12.25.2008
  39. receiving is not half as good as giving. if we could all just give half of what we recieve this world would be a tad more happy.
plus, wats the joy in receiving? just temporary…givin lasts

    by lo on 12.25.2008
  40. Giving can mean a lot of different things… you can give your time, your soul, your life, your money… I think that I do a lot of giving just in everyday life, on accident. I give myself to a stranger I don’t even know just by catching their eyes for longer than ten seconds. Give is such a soft word. I wish I did more of the good kind of giving than the bad, when you sacrifice yourself on the alter of someone’s problems. Bleh. Merry Christmas. :D
