  3. The birthday atmosphere hung in the air. Children smiled and laughed, balloons floated around in the breeze. Emily, a young girl of four, cluctched at her mothers arm as they walked through gate. The birthday party was in full swing. emily’s breath caught in her throat as she thought about being left here without her mother. She looked up at her mum with big brown teary eyes, begging her to go and take emily with her. Janice smiled down at her pride and joy and bent down on one knee. She looked Emily straight in the eye and said, “Sweetheart, we wont stay for long. Just long enough to say hi to Amy and Leanne, Okay? Then we will go and get ice-cream.” She leaned in and kissed her daughters forhead, pushing a strand of soft brown hair behind her ear. Emliy smiled greatfully and nodded. Hand in hand they walked down the path to an expectant crowd of guests; together, always.

  6. An event could be anything. A birthday, an anniversary. Happy, sad. Unexpected even. An event is different to everyone. An event means something different to every single person who is their to witness that event. Events are love and death

  7. So many events, such little time. I just wish I could go to every event ever, just attend it. And I wish I wouldn’t be so scared of people, so that even if I go alone, I would enjoy being alone rather than being afraid of having someone approach me or having someone look at me. I want to attend musical events and food events and events that I have no particular interest in. But no.

  8. The “blessed” event was coming up fast and Lindie was still trying to tie up all the lose ends. It had seemed to easy – preparing for a baby – but the reality was far, far worse. Goodness knows how Lindie would handle it when the blessed child finally did put in an appearance.

  9. There is a big event for me today, my sister is having a baby today so I will become an auntie to either Jack Rhys Parry or Ella Grace Parry. Unfortunately, a very bad event has occurred, my next door neighbour has died, he has been ill for a very long time but it was still a great shock when he died in hospital this morning.

  10. I wonder why it’s always an event. Why not a celebration? An occurrence? Something-that-happens? Or perhaps the thing-that-will-happen. The to-be-coming-thing. Any other name would do. Any other Word would suffice to the ends of the earth. Just not event. To clarify, I cannot write about something twice. It’s just not what I do. But alright. Event it is.

  11. I sighed unhappily. What was going to happen? I didn’t understand. Why had he said that? For what reason? Exactly when was it going to happen? How was it going to happen? Why was it going to happen? Those questions easily posed themselves to me as they always did after I had read the book titled, obviously, events.

  16. event happens to take place in everybody’s life. some are good events, memorable whereas some are bad, which nobody wants to remember. I had a trip to spain recently which was very eventful apart from me losing my passport at a beach. This was a bad painful event which I just want to shift+delete from memory. An event can also be Michael Jackson performing live in O2 arena, London. An wedding, a birthday bash, a divorce ceremony, all these can be considered as events.

  18. An event. A trigger in space and time. Something that can change the world. Well, what would the world be without these things? Nothing would happen. Everything is an event. Life is just a collection of events. What they are is up to us.

    by Rae on 08.20.2012
  19. Events happen to all of us, every day of our lives. We choose to partake or to just let them pass by. Some days are better than others to join in on the fun. But today is a great day to have fun with your friends.

  23. As per usual, she could not sleep. Every time there was an event of any scale, from the first day of school to a second date, she could not sleep the night before.

  24. Happiness often came to her in bursts of moments – events that could never really be foretold, or even remotely planned. They were all spontaneous; that’s what made them happy and fulgent. The arbitrary way of how these moments unfolded was the primary reason for them being treasured inside her heart.

    by Ida on 08.20.2012

  31. an event is something that marks a change from life appearing to belong to a stretch of time, and then a bigger stretch of infinity takes place with an event. Its memorable,

  32. this is where it all happens. its the focal point of the evening, the headliner, the crowd bringer. Traumatic, or otherwise this could always be viewed as a learning experience.

Strange though, after all this is said, we look to black holes. The Event horizon, where everything is swirling the drain, yet we never see anything get devoured by these celestial waste disposals. The “Event” never happens to be viewed..

  33. “Left right left…” John awkwardly moved his feet to keep up with Sherlock’s rhythm. She was teaching him how to waltz for the case and he seems to be doing well for a beginner.

Now that Sherlock could change genders, it benefited their solving cases greatly. They could slip in alleyways and pass as two lovers spending time together. Not that they’re actually lovers. Or are they?

“John, you’re moving out of rhythm,” Sherlock brought him back to reality and John snapped his attention to finding the rhythm again.

    “Right, sorry,” he stuttered.

Sherlock shook her head. She should stop being in her female form for a while. It seemed to be distracting John while they’re on cases. If he can’t even dance a simple waltz, how could they get in the event their suspect is attending?

  37. The other day my phone rang and I let it run. A recorded voice told my voicemail machine about a picnic for the republican candidate. I threw my pilow over my head in an attempt to cancel out the noise.

  38. There was an event going on. I was not sure what it was about but there were many people and I had seen the even in the paper. I wanted to go with my friend and I had convinced her to come along. There were many booths and stands and many people gathered around. No one seemed to know what the event was about and we were all wondering what could possibly be going on.
