  1. the edges, the between spaces. Dawn’s twin brother. This was a time when she could see the scaffolding under the world, the struts and guidewires that hold us up and carry us along our set paths. the dying of the sun is not a dying, merely a moving out of reach. She smiled and turned on the kitchen lantern.

  2. Dusk was a time I usually remembered to fear. Tonight, I’d forgotten completely.
I sat with my hands on my head, panting, waiting for some sort of sign from some sort of messenger that I knew would never come. And all I could tell myself was that I would live. This would not be the night that I died. Dusk would not kill me tonight.

Well I suppose it’s technically after dawn but if you wake up in the middle of the day, it’s before dawn … Vampires really like dusk cause they can come out and play with all the other vampires who are stuck inside their cave or attic or where ever it is vampires live.

Tonight was our final night to be kids, to be friends. Tomorrow we would grab our diplomas and enter into the world of adulthood. We’ll go our separate ways but know that we’ll meet up one day, as friends always do.

  36. The dusk falls, shadowy and soft, and I remember – shoot, I have a paper to write! I don’t honestly want to – who does? – but it needs to be done. An analysis of a poet who spoke, two pages being hardly enough to write an introduction. I suppose I should get started on that… the waning moon, just past being full, rises in the sky and I idly stare at my blank word document, loath to begin the dread assignment.
