I was determined to call her today. I decided that when I got up this morning. That was what I needed to do today: Call her. I was afraid though. I don’t always know what to say. It’s not my speciality, talking to editors. I feel unprepared and remiss. She is business-like, not chatty. I’m going to need to pass her scrutiny no matter what I say, and it’s not my charm she’ll be evaluating.
I’m finally asking the right questions, understanding what it is I need to do to get the career I want. Amazingly however, the people whom I know hold the answers, or at least an idea of where to look purse their lips and sit in silence. Providing nothing. Maybe there is something in that nothing. For now I need to search a new place and find a new way to answer these questions.

Reversal of syntax has made me determined to never become an English major, for English is far less beautiful and regular than Latin. Latin is a wonderful language, and I am fucking determined to learn as much as I can about it forever.

The bird, perched innocently on a weather vein, was completely oblivious to the eminent danger. The determined child poised for the final attack, her butt wiggling in the air like a cat.

I’m ‘determined’ to finish this sentence in under 60 seconds. What does it even matter to you? Shut up, I’m tired. And not determined.

In the begining of the year I made a decision that this year was going to be my year. I have made many changes in my life in the recent past…losing weight, taking dance lessons, learning a new language. I’ve kept the weight off for four years. But now the results have slowed and I need to take another step in the right direction.
I’ve joined a gym. I now do kickboxing as well. The workouts are intense and I hurt afterwards. I’m not trying to get better in one day. But I am determined to get better and stay better by the end of 2011.

For possibly the first time I am so hyper determined to make this work, that failure will not happen. I am determined to make my world better; how strange indeed that this word was chosen.
I am determined to write this paper 2 days before the deadline! This is a feat for me! Typically any paper I write does not see the light of completion until, at best, 3 hours before the deadline…. Wish me luck! :)
