  1. Dein Weg, deine Gedanken! Es ist dein Schicksal und nur du entscheidest was du daraus machst.

    by ToePhilae on 05.16.2010
  2. Destiny is a funny thing. Do those who live their lives by it really have control. Do they miss out on opportunities because they believe that things are always ‘written in the stars’? I don’t, that’s for sure. I don’t believe in destiny. You make your own.

  3. “This is no freaking fairy tale.” I said, shrugging my shoulders as I continue to walk down the street. “It isn’t your destiny to save me, Nate.”

    “But what if it is?”

  4. Destiny is overrated.

  6. Her destiny was set, she just had to embark on her journey. She wasn’t sure how she would reach her destination, but she knew how the outcome would be. Opening the door, she set out to meet her fate.

    by AnnaBeth on 05.16.2010
  7. A persons life is said to be on a set path by destiny and fate. destiny being reward and fate being the means to put you on the path to destiny.

    by Kieran Vanderburgh on 05.16.2010
  8. Oh god, this word is unbearably cheesy. All I can think of is a half-assed Kingdom Hearts reference and even that’s disappointing. :/

    by bluefactories on 05.16.2010
  9. Destiny can drive the sane to insanity and the insane to sanity. Destiny is the coming and going of our lives and meanings we cling to so desperately. Destiny is our Lives.

    by Abby on 05.16.2010
  10. its something you live for.. it’s chosen for you, you do not choose it yourself… we all have our own destiny… it’s forever..

    by jessica on 05.16.2010
  11. I think Destiny does exist, but not to the magnitude people think it does. Yes, some things are bound to happen, but I think Destiny is more like a set of guidelines than something that’s bound to happen. We can alter it ourselves if we try hard enough.

    by Ivy on 05.16.2010
  12. it’s pretty strange that carrots are supposed to help wth your night vision, don’t you think? I mean . . . where did that come from? A vegetable root that spends its entire life underground without seeing a hint of light helps your eyesight . . . that’s the ultimate destiny.

    by Jon on 05.16.2010

  15. Is it manifest? In the stars? Unforseeable? In your hands? In the hands of the world? Does it exist? Destiny is everything and nothing, the past present and future. The end result, and just the beginning.

  16. Destiny isn’t something I believe in. I’m a true believer in science. There are too many external possibilities for there to be a set out path for all living things. The universe is far too infinite.

    by on 05.16.2010
  17. The destiny of the children was to see the sky light up and fly in it with the briefness and beauty of the birds below. It is amazing what can be achieved with the simplest ideas and thoughts. Those children will fly high and get far. They wont stop. They wont be detoured. They will continue on forever.

    by Kaitlin on 05.16.2010

  24. Destiny. It doesn’t exist. Not everything is already set in stone.
    You can change what happens.
You can change how something happens.
    FREE WILL? yes.

  25. when you are five, you believe everything has it’s own course. there’s one ultimate goal, and the ending result is happiness. you know you’ll get your own pony, a house with a white picket fence, and your very own prince charming. you are five, and you know all will be well in the end, because your mother tells you so every night as she reads to you from a book etched in gold. she tells you it’s your future, and you believe her. you are five, and you firmly believe in destiny; there’s no reason not to.

when you are twelve, you realize you don’t always get what you want. the teacher hands you back a paper marked heavily in red. there’s a haphazard sad smiley face in the corner, and circled thickly is the number “57”. you get your first slap on the wrist, and your parents tell you never again. as a punishment, your best friend can’t come over for the weekend, and you lose your television privileges. “it’s for the best,” they say, “this will teach you to do better next time: try harder.” you are twelve, and somewhere along the line you notice not everything turns out in your favor; your goldfish dies that sunday.

when you are nineteen, you experience your first heartbreak. it’s worse than when you broke your wrist, tumbling to the ground off a bicycle when you were a child. instead of your palms aching, it’s your chest, and for once in your life, no one can relieve the pressure. it’s the end of the world, you think. you walk the pavement and only make it to your courses because it’s habit; going to and from is a blur, and your notebooks remain empty. you are nineteen, and you can’t remember what it’s like to be on your own.

when you are twenty-five, you think you’re a hot shot. you ride the elevator up to the thirty-seventh floor every morning and descend every evening. there’s a platinum door with a golden plaque and your name is etched in black ink. you dress in high quality suits, you live in a hotel suite, and people know your name. when you walk into a room, all eyes are on you because you’re climbing the ladder faster than anyone thought possible. you are twenty-five and you don’t need anyone; you fire two people in the afternoon and have a payvraise by five o’clock that evening.

when you are thirty-two, you get pregnant. your child is born in the autumn, and he is beautiful. you designed his nursery, you picked out brand new clothing, and you assuredly made sure he has only the best. you will accept nothing less for your son, as he is your world. your boy will shake mountains, and your boy will build bridges. you are thirty-two, and you are content.

when you are thirty-eight, you build a wall. your boy is six and he is inquisitive and he is adventurous. he is everything you once were and more. you realize, at this point, there are things you do not want him to go through. there are paths he does not need to cross; there are roads he does not need to take. you begin building a wall, and you block out the pain your son doesn’t need to experience. you read from a book etched in gold and you tell your son of the earth and it’s wonders. you are thirty-eight, you tell your son of his limitless future; your son has a destiny.

  27. sitting in my seat, watching television, seeing other people’s destiny cook up in a kitchen. Overcook, undercook, overseasoned, burnt or crispy. They cook and cook and cook, and when they actually discovered what destiny tastes like….it was intuition that guided them with the spices.

    by Ninona on 05.16.2010
  28. it will bring us together. keep us together. it will be certain. all will be certain. destined. done.

  30. what is meant to happen. its something that you have no control over and thats what destiny is. you have to expect that there are some things that are just meant to happen. ya know?

  31. does destiny exist? if you get distracted for a second and bump into someone, and they turn out to be your life partner – what if you had sidestepped in time? what if you didn’t even walk that way? would things still be the same? would your life carry out the exact same path in the end?

  32. “Accept the things to which Destiny binds you, and love the people with whom destiny brings you together, but do so with all of your heart.” – Marcus Aurelius

  36. she was working for the man who didn’t believe in destiny or choice but work and life. destiny plays out like a book you read random events from on whichever page you decide on you only have one minute for life to unfold it’s not always your choice but another’s you just have to wait, see and die that’s all there is to destiny that’s all there is to what happens to little bitty you unless you get lucky and you’re good but you still die right right snip snip what happens when you cease to exist has the minute turned are you evolving

  37. this is our destiny, we have to chose how we end it, but more importantly how we start it. there is no right or wrong answer, only what you belive. destiny begins at the end and ends at the beginning. theres no stopping it. only molding it.
