  1. I don’t need to be defended by you.

It’s time to learn to squelch the pit of nothing that turns me inside-out when faced with a stern voice and threatening attitude.

  8. I thought of what she was saying. How could I possibly deny it? Yet, I still defended my self.
“Well, I just don;t know anyone!” I screamed at her.
She glared at me. Her ice blue eyes shot into my heart like bullets into a deer.
“Get away from my boyfriend or else.”
With a flip of her hair she was gone.

  9. The wolf jumped in front of me, defending me. I was confused but I stayed back, letting growl at the creature in front of us. I watched as the creature took off and then the wolf turned to look at me, pain in his eyes. His wonderful golden green eyes that looked up at me with such sadness. As I reached out to touch him, he took off. “What have I done?”

  12. It always made her feel awkward when her brother defended their estranged father. The father that had made his disdain for them so clear. Her brother had witnessed the failure of their parent’s marriage as she had, and heard their father implicitly placing the blame on his children and their insistence on not growing up as he had expected. How her brother could be so easily taken in by guilty presents and the occasional birthday card astounded her.
