But when you see one of those damn fake deer in your headlights, your bowels seize and you figure it’s about to get ugly.

  15. This is some sort of animal that lives in forests in Europe. The male ones have antlers, I think. They eat mainly plants and are pretty friendly. Some bad people hunt them for fun. I don’t like these people. This is all I have to say on the subject of “deer”.

  16. deer.. i seriously don’t know what this word means. I think im fairly smart, but i don’t know what it means. I know that a deer is an animal like bambi, but i think there are other definitions.. it makes me think of.. in terms of “endearment”. is that word? I think i heard it in a movie before, or at the office, while I’mt trying to listen to other peoples conversation but not really acting like i care.

  17. Bambi’s are gorgeous, wonderful, and inspire the deepest fear in all late night drivers. There is no way to know when one is going to appear in the peripheral vision of you or your passengers, but if they appear too late, the consequences could be deadly.

  18. She raised her head to locate the sound of the click. It smelled like danger! Yes there he was, pointing a long stick at her. Her babies needed her protectection. She kept them behind her to shield them with her body. A loud burst and a a red flash came from the stick
“Ah, my babies” she cried as she sank to the ground.
The twin deer stood silent and still as a statue, just as they were taught. Their mother lay there before them — not moving. What should they do? Run? Stand still? It was a hard thing to decide. Finally, they durned tail to the beings that made fire with the stick. As they turned, a loud booming sound came from behind them but they did not hear it. They sank gently to the ground beside their mother.

  29. Deer are beautiful creatures that we all respect and love! Deer are graceful little runners but sadly are often the prey of hunters. Deer have little defense against humans and often get shot, run over by cars and more.

  30. We made the sharp turn into the driveway only to come to an abrupt stop – a herd of moronic deer stood frozen in front of the garage door, staring blankly at the headlights as if they could frighten the car off. To our surprise, one of them charged at our SUV. Fail.

  31. When I think about deer I think about hunting season in Minnesota. It was a short couple weeks, but I always dreaded coming home to find a dead deer hanging in the garage. Thankfully my brother & dad didn’t have the patience to wait it out & actually get a kill. My uncle had better luck. I just hated the idea of death being in my home. I’m not a peta person either.

  37. once upon a time i thought i could run like a deer. the thought is exhilarating to me now. for deer being so lithe and swift and full of now. like a bird. Deer have the grace of heaven. Is it that grace and fear are so connected. If you or I am graceful we stay not for possible damage done by one who would eat us, even alive.
the thought I had of running was a vast fantasy. I chose the deer for it’s beauty and speed. What does the deer want in life? to eat to love to breed to sleep to enjoy now. if there is beauty on the outside it must be so. does the deer have a soul?

    by michelebelle on 04.14.2010
