Exactly what I missed while I was in Kabul. The feeling of being connected to other people, other places. Maybe its the extra half hour in the time zone there- never figured it out and now it doesn’t matter because i’m back at home and trying to remember what being me used to feel like.
I guess now when I think about connections, I think about social networking. How stupid is that? And when I say social networking, I mean facebook, twitter, blogs, etc. There are so many other meanings but the first that comes to mind is the thing that the world is obsessing over and making millions of research articles on. Booooooringggg.
I feel connected to so much that I often feel overstimulated. I’m connected emotionally, physically, technologically….where can I disconnect without consequences? Sometimes I want to just unplug and allow myself the time to reboot. I want to have time to think. I think If I was unplugged, I could do a better job at reconnecting to everything else.
People who have gone through their lives telling lies about themselves and others are in for a big surprise. We are all connected. Whether it’s through 2, 3 or 10 people, everyone comes together in the end. One day they will have that sudden shock of seeing everyone they know, together, in the same room, and they will be fucked.
