  1. Smoking those cigarettes, thrown outside like a bad dog. Hundle around together in the winter freezing and throwing the cigarette out before it’s halfway smoked. We smokers have become the social pariahs of the 21st century, but we sure do contribute to the tax revenues of the state.

  2. cigarette. uhuh,
    the smell always has
    me remember.
    every tobacco whiff from
    a street passer by,
    and the reminiscent smell
    that stayed in the room
even a year after your departure,
and hats, every man in a hat
    has me turn to see,
    but no,
it is never, and never will be.

    nicki

  4. The grand dame in the photograph smokes fags out of a cylindrical metal cigarette holder, held affixed between thumb and forefinger like an artist’s paintbrush so as to keep the smoke from her roiling through her airy coiffure like a competing weather pattern. Her elongated fingers appear like bones against this improbable brass baton and the whole contraption exists perhaps just to keep the nicotine from yellowing her delicately polished fingernails. Her chin is held outward and upward and her eyes are affixed in a haughty gaze, just to the side of the camera.
