That space within me that reminds me there is enough love, inspiration, and adventure out there for everyone, and that I will have plenty of them all in my lifetime. Sometimes, though, this thing called certainty is hard to find. And it is in those moments that I falter.

    by Tina on 06.24.2008

  13. i have no skill for certainty. i have only been certain about a few things in my life ever. certainty leaves me alone, unwanted, and concerned. certainty stares me in the face, demanding a decision, ordering me to make a choice. i was never certain of your love. i was never certain of your care. never certain enough to kiss you back, to allow you in, to give you my heart.

i have no talent for certainty.

  14. He stepped with certainty across the golden shining cobblestones in the street; walked with purpose like he knew where he was going, what he was doing, what he wanted to do and where he wanted to go next. Still, though, the breeze whipping gently against his face seemed to tease him into the truth:

“you don’t know who you are”

He stopped on one of those gleaming street corners that reflected the gold sunset against his skin and he whispered,

“I know who I want to be.”

  21. I am almost certain that the Chicago Cubs are one of the most gay, pathetic organizations in the whole wide world. And really, there is absolutely nothing worse than a Cubs fan. They never pay attention to the games, and they only sit at Wrigley to “look cool”. Really, that place is the world’s largest gay bar. Freaking Cubs.

  23. certainty has the beauty of sanity
    vanity and
    clarity
none of it really exists – we want it to exist
because if it does, it means that there is something normal about us.
    we could be sane
we might love ourselves enough to be vain
and we might have some sense of understanding in this life.
but sadly, most of these things are illusions.

    by Molly on 06.24.2008

  28. There is no such thing as certainty. If you’re expecting certainty with anything you pursue in life you are sure to be let down. Expect there to be uncertainty and your life’s pursuits will be more enjoyable. Don’t set yourself to be let down. Expect hurdles. It makes the good times more enjoyable.

  38. certainty in my opinion is when you know for sure what it is. because if you didn’t know, then you would be certain. Like I’m not certain of my feelings toward my boyfriend, only because I mean I love him but sometimes it just bugs the hell out of me. I’m not so certain he loves me. Or even cares for me, at that.
