  2. It ran around the top of his head, holding his long hair back from his face and keeping the sweat from his forehead– when he did, sweat, that was. As a Warder, he didn’t usually. It just came with the territory. He was always calm, collected, and stone-faced.

  3. A band of young faces stalk through the trees.
You could see through blind eyes the fear they hold inside.
    And among these men?
    A sinner.
    The center.
    Of this broken world.

  5. When you really like a band, you may just like their music, but for some it’s very different. You begin to feel almost as if you were part of that band, as if all the members were your best friends, even family. A band can inspire you, help you get through something, and altogether change your life with their own collective being.

  6. I like to listen to my favorite bands. I usually listen to them on my iPod or MP3 Player, but occasionally like to listen in my room. My favorite band is All Time Low. I’ve yet to go to one of their concerts, but plan on going soon. I am not really a huge music person, but love to listen on long car rides. That’s all!

  10. In my school, the chorus kids are treated with a bit more respect than the band kids. I don’t think it has anything to do with being in band or chorus…not really. The band kids just to tend be infamous for being strange, whereas there are so many different types of people in chorus that it’s sort of hard to dislike the group as a whole. Just one more reason why I love chorus.

  11. The band rages and I hold her tight. We jump and dance and sweat and grind and everything is right in this moment. There is nobody else I would rather spend these moments with.

  12. A tight piece of rubber surrounds the soft supple skin of her arm.
The ristance of rubber to flesh makes her cringe.
in goes the needle, and suddenly she cringes no more.

  14. A band is something I used to be part of. Its a great feeling to be part of a band, really. It’s just a bunch of people who enjoy doing the same thing as you, and you do it together, and there is just a fantastic feeling of togetherness from being in a band that nothing else can bring you.

  15. She had a band around her wrist. I saw it, just briefly, just long enough to know that it was her – long enough to see the red fabric, long enough to catch her smile, flittering about on her lips, the way it used to.
And then she was gone, eaten whole by the shops, and the people, and the smoke and fog of the city… I wanted to catch her, to rescue her, but sometimes…
    Sometimes such rescues aren’t warranted.

  16. He wrapped the fabric band tightly around the splint. I winced as my leg was jostled. “That’s the best i can do, you’re lucky to still have a leg! Why on Earth would you ever attempt to ride a dragon?”

  17. Band aid’s are the worst part of getting hurt. They like your skin so much, that they try to take a little piece with them as they leave.

  18. the band was roaring in my ear. around me the crowd swarmed, ignited by the music flowing though our ears. this, i though, is what being free is.

  20. i hate bands, it might be because i cant play music or sing or anything. but when i think of bands i think of lowlifes who cant get a real job. having sais this i love music, i love listening to it and singing to it off key. but the idea of a band, i just think of crappy basement times and desperatly trying to get a recording contract. i dislike that idea. it pulls me in two idrections, because without them i couldnt sing in the car.

  21. We formed a band in grade 10, called The Dices. We were just kids, having fun, blissfully ignorant of how much we really sucked. We were really bad.

    by Nishat on 07.27.2011
  22. I would one day like to start a folk band. Mainly because I think that’s the only area of music I think my voice could pull off, but also because I really like the feel it gives and banjos! However, this does not limit my choice of music I listen too.

  23. Band was…interesting. I didn’t know any fingerings. I didn’t know any songs. And I didn’t know any people.
I learned the fingerings. I learned the songs. But I never did get to know anyone. Well, I observed. But only from an outside perspective.

  24. I see her across the group of people. Her hair is glistening in the fake florecent light. I can see the sweat on her forehead as she bobs her head to the pulsing beat. Can it be? Is love at first site real? It must be. Im in love.

  28. Someday, you’ll play for the crowd you’ve grown up for
One day, your face will age with the beauty of a thousand songs
All through the strings of your guitar

  29. Band’s are cool because they describe you. The type you listen to most likely fits your personality.

  30. there are bands you see, bands you sing to, bands you let others sing to, and then there’s this band: the specials. they sleep with their instruments, they eat with their instruments, and you can tell. if ska is dead then music is on it’s way out too. you wait, mr. darcy. if you prey upon these groupies they’ll prey upon you. the night is heavy with anticipation as they all stand together vying for the best possible spot with the best possible view. the night is falling like a curtain and somehow the din seems louder in the black. some light pre-show joints, all drink pre-show liquor. every bone is prepping itself for the jaunt of the slow light pulse the music has bred in them and that they’ve come to know like old friends. “i first heard them from my brother in seventh grade. no body in my class knew them then.” in college they could legitimately say they knew them from before high school but it still sounded gauche.

  31. I’ve always wanted to be in a band. I play drums and I would love to sing. I believe that a band creates the strongest relationships possible. Expression between individuals that has unlimited value.

    by Nathan on 07.27.2011
  32. She looked down at the band that encircled her wrist and wondered if she should keep wearing it. After all it was a friendship bracelet and the friendship was over. Dead. Gone. Seemingly forgotten about. But she’d been wearing it for years, why take it off now?

    by BeeBee on 07.27.2011
  33. I was covered in sweat, only some of which was my own. My feet were dirty, my eyeliner was smearing and I almost lost my brand new t-shirt after my third beer. What a great night….the band was amazing.

  34. Together as one melody strung beautifully. I love my band. No part is small. All are needed and accepted.

  36. I’ve never been in a band. It sounds like it would be fun though, if you could sing or play an instrument– something I will NEVER be able to do well. I play piano, but I don’t think I would ever be good enough to be in a band. I like listening to bands. Some of my favorites are Rascal Flatts, Maroon 5, NSYNC and more. Pretty much any boy band I like :)

  37. Music is my soul. The band is the beholder. I am nothing. The band is the only group to connect me to myself and my surroundings. I am something from nothing. Music is my escape. Always. Without it… who am I? Ironic… The same melody that builds me up mentally, breaks me down. I wonder if it was the band’s intention. Each note bringing me back and taking me away again.

    by Nicolyn on 07.27.2011
  38. Something that sings. Harmony, melody, friendship, love, breakup, get together, reunion, miss you, days of the week, and theme songs. Wow, so much huh?

  39. When I was little I always wanted to start a band. I’d sit under a big tall shady tree with my notebook and just write down names for my imaginary band. Then I’d turn the page and write songs for my imaginary band to sing. I wanted to be really famous. And I knew I’d give all the money to needy kids. I just needed some band mates.
