  1. Autumn. Here in Minnesota the season is still lasting, far beyond the usual. In October we see snow, but not this year. Everyday the blue skies, brisk winds and fall colors brighten my heart. It is such a blessing to have this autumn last, I treasure every moment of it. It reminds me how much I love to be alive, experiencing everyday of every season. Cold or hot, day or night, the world is my beautiful home. That is something to be thankful for.

  2. ok, i gues im in my autum season of my life, and i mean, my life just for tody, probably theres another autum season in my past.

  8. leaves burn bright
    like fires on the prairie.
the sign of a change of season.
    it’s the first step toward
    death.
    and what’s necessary before
    nature can rise
    from the ash
    of winter’s curse.

  9. Oak trees. Orange yellow green brown. A tornado of color around me. The cool breeze blows me away, above the citrus forest and into the yellow sky hanging above my town, until I am just another cloud traveling the sky until I fall like spring.

  10. i love autumn! everything is so homey and comfortable. everyone is happy because winter is close, and this is the time when families get together. thanksgiving, halloween, red leaves, cozy sweaters and hot coffee are all my favorite things! next comes winter and i am so excited for snowmen, snowball fights, and fireplaces! sitting by the fire with friends is the best! i love it!

  11. A whirl of gold leaves
A whisper of a sweet breeze
    A smile of cotton clouds

  12. Autumn is the season of the year I love best–mainly because I’ve never really had the opportunity to enjoy it. That’s because of work, of family responsibilities–real life intruding as it will. But, hey, now, with retirement in the works, it’s finally my turn.

  13. The leaves cascade slowly in a whir of orange, and red, and yellow, and even a dark purple. Theycrunch beneath the feet of children walking down the asphalt to home from their multiple bus stops. Somebody is using one of those god-awful leaf blowers down the street and it’s all you can do to not plug your ears and just keep walking. Keep walking until you reach wherever it is that you want to go, pushing on through season after season… starting in winter, then through spring, through summer, and reaching into the chilled Autumn.

  14. Autumn is a season. I forget the order of the seasons though.

  16. autumn is one of my favorite seasons. it shows God’s glory, beauty and attention to detail. the way leaves change, things die in order to be reborn again, and if he puts that much detail into nature, how much more detail does he care about you?

  17. The leaves are falling.
Have you ever stopped to think about that?
    Falling leaves…
D’you know… If you catch a falling leaf, it’ll never touch the ground?
Think about that, for a moment.
    Never.
When has never ever occurred to you before?
If you stop a leaf, before it hits the ground…you’ve interrupted a cycle that will never be completed. Or if you carry it states over before releasing it – wild leaf, released! – then you’ve transplanted part of a tree’s soul. Amazing, isn’t it?

  19. Everything falls apart in the autumn. Change is inevitable. Temporary sure, but inevitable. The leaves, the season, the weather… our hearts. Summer loves go out the window and we trudge through the death of light into the isolation of winter. Unless we’re lucky, and autumn becomes an indian summer. And we can be in love forever.

  20. i love the leaves in autumn. it’s so awesome to drive through themountains and see how the colors are just randomly placed greens and yellows and reds and oranges. no one teels a tree how to dress. the tree just does what it has always been made to do, and people marvel at it’s beauty. they don’t judge it’s coordination, or envy it’s skill.

  21. tasty, chilly, leaves flying, scarves retrieved from the closet, warm cocoa, snuggles with my hubby and all the kitties, savory stews, watching my breath mist in the air.

  22. If you think the changing leaves are pretty, you haven’t lived in New England long enough. Or on your own. I sighed as the first few burnt orange leaves scattered my driveway. Time to start sweeping, then raking, then stuffing, then hauling. Bags and bags of leaves. No one to help.

  23. Leaves kept falling all afternoon. She would look up occasionally as one dusted the sleeve of her jacket, or full in front of her as she walked down the sidewalk. He had not taken her hand when they left his apartment. She couldn’t see his eyes behind the aviator shades, so she wasn’t quite sure what he was thinking. Michael bit his lip and then opened his mouth to speak.

  24. In autumn the leaves begin to fall from the trees and the once green surroundings turn to golds and oranges. The life seems to fade away from everything around you. The air gets cold and your skin gets dry. Autumn is the time to let you know the cold is soon to come.

  25. The autumn leaves swirled around his feet and he shot out with a hungry hand and grabbed a leaf with the greatest sundown hue. With nimble hands and a mischievious mind he tore the leaf to shreds and scattered the remains as he went back home.

  26. autumn generally comes after winter season. Leaves shed their green dress and appear golden in the autumn. Autumn symbolizes change from old to new.

  30. change. it can mean the coming of cold and death or it can be ironic birth at a time when things are shedding and aging. either way, it is maturity. the beauty of autumn is it’s dynamic. that question of paths – the possibilities are endless. and though this unknown disposition can be unsettling, i like taking comfort in the fact that, though it may be cold, iron, and pouring rain, the forests are still filled with a spectrum of colors, sounds, and textures. if one is only bold enough to look around. autumn is an entity firm in their standing no matter how unstable appearances may seem. relaxed. and joyful. using the passing of time with grace.

  33. I did autumn yesterday—but a quick glance out the window told me it is still autumn today. Crimson grape leaves twine into my hawthorn tree where juncos flit from spot to spot on the ground searching for scattered seed. Brilliant blueberry bushes flaming red catch my eye as it scans the yard. A flicker hangs from the suet feeder, oblivious to my form in the window.

  35. The orange leaves fell to the earth like snow on a winters day. Their colour changing with every moment, with every breath of wind. The squirrels scurried along the ground, collecting their stash for the oncoming winter. It was peaceful. It was bliss. The children dove into the mounds of leaves, not a care or a worry. Their little hand gathering clumps of the orange paper, throwing them into the cool air. Joy.
