  1. The announcement that the flight would be late came while she was in the bathroom. So, she was rushing out when she saw everyone sitting there. She knew right away that that was it, though. She just picked up her carry on and walked out of the terminal and hailed a cab.

  5. There I was. In front of a room. In front of the people that filled it. And I was thinking too much. I have nothing new to say. I have nothing you don’t know already. I don’t understand the purpose of tongue twisting it into new words to repeat as if another phrase makes it more interesting. They make sure to call it a press conference when it’s not governmental because somehow that makes it more legitimate. A bunch of people are hired to do it. People twist their heads as they drive by like they do with any commotion to find out what’s going on. Which often slows them down. And ends up to be a waste of time. For something they probably already know about it. I want to announce that I have nothing new to say. The very opposite of the purpose. Maybe it works when something new is expected,

  6. i’ve already written bout this once. i wrote about how the announcements at school are loud. they blare whenever grantham is talking. we laugh about how interruptive they are. announcements can be good or bad. there can be a good announcement that someone is getting married, or a bad announcement in that there will be a funeral. but sometimes announcements are the best, like when there’s a snow day so school is canceled. but that will never happen here in the bay area.

  24. She puts on her ice-sweater
and wears the threads to a sharpness
akin to a ‘begotten’ that pierced through
    fate and monarch-child’s summer,
full grown and with a fear to burn.

  25. 380k’s South

    Tufts of breeze ebb
    Pianissimo around our
    Arms, legs

I sit in the shady mat of
    Melaleuca needles,
    Sipping coffee

    The boys wake early,
    You and the little one
    gently stir

    Cicadas doppler-tick
    in the peppermints

    The bikes lay sleeping
    Over tent pegs

    in the shallows
    A pelican stretches out
    Bill raised
    Then reassembles himself
    Neatly

    Our little boat
    Sways on its mooring

    Like we do
    When you hold me
    And we kiss

    I finish the coffee
    Stand, step into
    the morning sunlight

    Soon we’ll wade out together,
    Push off
    The old Johnson
    Idling at a slow boil

    up past
    ancient finger jetties
    Sentient herron
    And channel markers

Some of the kids where talking and said maybe someone in her family die and she will have to go away till the end of summer, if that was true then we would have the substitute teacher that everyone hates to have.
