held
He held her tiny frame in the palm of his hand, and she barely spilled out of it. Her flesh was so soft, and her eyes so small...Christ, everything about her was small, wasn't it? He wasn't sure how to handle this new burden in his life, but right now in this moment he knew that everything was going to be okay, no matter how hard things got.
chalkboard
Nails drug across the chalkboard, the sound echoing and reverberating through the room and bouncing off the walls. The demon grabbed his ears, howling and screaming as he fell to his knees. Jeremy knew it would only buy him a few more minutes, but he also knew those last few moments of air would be the sweetest he'd ever tasted.
backpack
The backpack was heavy as he walked along the dirt road, kicking at pebbles occasionally with the toe of his sneakers. He'd had a really bad day. Mrs. Johnson had yet again given him detention for talking during class, but he couldn't help it. Becky Smith was just so damn cute, he hung on her every word, and would anything in his power to make her say another one. An hour of detention for three words? Worth it, even if those words were "Shut up, dork".
montage
A montage of my own life passed by my eyes as I fell down, down into the crisp, blue water below. Such a foolish decision I had made, aiming to crawl up to the top of the cliff. I should have known the rocks would not be secure enough to hold my footing, should have known that I would slip against their slick, smooth surfaces as I placed my weight upon them. But low and behold, here I am falling down, down into the crisp, blue water.
