canteen
I met D in the canteen, his eyes at least. It was on a very dull Wednesday, and the sky apparently agrees as it covered itself with a blanket of thick grey clouds of boredom. I spotted him during lunch when I was about to buy myself something to chow on. He was about to leave the line with his tray when he abruptly stopped for a while to inspect his food. And then, as if sensing my prying eyes, he turned to face me. I experienced the longest three seconds of my life as I stared into those beautiful large bright eyes framed by long thick lashes. I have never met such mysterious eyes before; dark, brooding, and ominous. They spoke of danger, yet his face says otherwise. Then he blinked. That's when a freshman who was busy talking to her friends suddenly popped out of nowhere of my periphery and nearly made me spoil my food and before I had a chance to get a glimpse of his angelic face, he was out of the canteen.
