I missed my opportunity. I missed it while I was on Twitter. Missed it again when I was playing games on my cell phone. Missed it when I went back on Twitter. Couldn’t get a moment free when I scrolled through Facebook once for old times sake. Missed the knock of opportunity when I was too busy hiding from my own ideas and the work it would take to do anything useful with them.
Laura and Mary Ingalls were running to the train to say goodbye to Mr.Edwards’ son John who was leaving for college. Mary and John knew the would miss each other. The days past and everyday Mary missed John more and more. They had great love for each other.
Threw your jab at me. You missed. Your jab landed in the sink. I ended up telling him what you said, as a secret, and I’d never told him a secret before. He was the most solid of the shadows in the night, blowing smoke over his shoulder politely, totally beautiful.
I missed going to the fair this year. I have always went and it has been fun. The best part is the corn dogs. Fair food is something that you only eat once a year. Then it makes you feel like you want throw up on all the rides.
I wish that I will be missed.
To go to a place far away, to find a new life.
But the truth is that they won’t.
Their walls have kept them isolated.

We miss so many things, but hey, to even be able to miss something means we have the capacity to imagine it. Perhaps it might not be as great as we think, and maybe sometimes we really have no choice but to move forward. You’re missed, but thanks for being once in my life, and let’s move forward. I missed my family, I was on a very long field trip with my school and we had lots of fun, learning different cultures and playing different stuff. I missed my family
I have missed the feeling of being able to play a game for fun. It has now turned into something that I’m always serious and competitive about. This is not a good sign, as we should play games for fun, and not for stress.
A tear rolls down my cheek as I stare out to where you used to park. I glance around, and my eyes fall heavily on your seat. Then they wander to where you used to cook us breakfast, every god damned morning. How did this happen?

Missed baseball clink wood swish, a smell of sand and leather, my fingers are cold roots twisted round the stinging bat, my elbows throb and my cleats teeter tot in the crispy, holey footprints.
When you come down the back stairs, it always sounds like you’re falling. I missed that crash while you were away. The heavy metal door creaks open, and you go into the kitchen with a sheet of paper, ostensibly to copy it. Then, you see me at the computer, and I pretend I don’t see you, as you sneak in to see if I’m alone. I am. We talk, but not as deeply as I wish we could, because someone else comes down. When we’re not alone, you run back up the stairs without copying anything.
I missed you. It was unlike any feeling I had ever felt before. My chest ached, my heart thudded against the mattress, my face melted into my cold, tear-stained pillow. I wished that we could have been what we used to, I wished that we could live our life together as we had planned. But I didn’t listen. And neither did you.
Missed – a phrase we dread. We all want to be. Involved, over involved, over extended, rooted in our fear of missing. Who told us missing out was to be avoided? Did someone make a mistake along the way? I intend to live my life and at times, that means I miss. And that is okay.
I think I should have missed school, but I didn’t. I sank down into my personal oblivion before nine AM, and I tried to write my in-class essay, but I couldn’t get any English out. It was like I knew no languages, understood no dialects or even single words. When I fell asleep in math class, I dreamed of chaos spun like sugar into stars. I can’t really describe it in any other way – fever dreams are just sort of like that.
I missed the target by a mile. Maybe a mile and an inch. It was moving at the time, no excuse on my part, but shit man. The copter was shaking and the road they were on was not smooth. My bad. Their lives…
She hadn’t missed him. She hit him dead center. He was not allowed to let anyone, least of all her, know he had been hit though; or that the wound was as grave as it was. The wound was so deep that he thought it might kill him. He wanted someone, anyone in the world to understand his pain and without judging him for allowing himself to be wounded in this way.
She had shot him through the heart, and he could only sit there and bleed out as he realized there was no one to save him and no one to blame but himself.
Throughout a lifetime, she missed the call. She missed the deadline.She missed the opportunity. She missed the target. She missed the meaning. She missed the signal. She missed him. But she can’t be perfect, so she comes to accept that sometimes she misses.
I stand up slowly, wiping a tear from my eye. I remember all of the awful things that happened in the war. Unimaginable things, things I want to forget, but I also don’t. This is a part of me now. I will carry this with me until the moment I take my last breath. I reach down to the earth to pick up a poppy, and place it over my best friend’s grave. I whisper, “Lest we forget, you will be missed. Goodbye.”
Missed: if you miss something you don’t hit what you’re attempting to, i.e., a target. Or, you can be oblivious as to the point of the conversation. As am I at this moment.
I bury my face in the smell of him and instantly it all dissolves- the distance, the difficulty, the disconnect. I am here and he is here and that’s all that matters anymore. I listen to him breath and adjust my body to his and we just stand there.

I missed. The draw, the anchor, a breath, and release. The arrow fell short, and the buck bound away. Holding my bow, I hoped for another chance.
