I really can’t write about the word “compound.” Compound? Seriously? There’s not much that can be done with just “compound” to start with. My problems are compounding upon one another, it seems.
Together they were so much better than apart; they had the potential to change the world. If only they could work together, but ironically what would have made them together so brilliant was the reason they couldn’t work together – they were to different, the potential was there but in reality the chances of them ever coming together as a team was hampered by their stubborn unwillingness to bend, break and change to accommodate one another.
He was talking about compounds and chemistry and I was lost–so lost. So very, very lost. This is coming from a girl who still does math by counting on her fingers.
All of the anxieties a normal person feels, compounded by the fact that there’s a hideous mark on his face. As they make small talk, asking him about his job, his hobbies, they stare and the purple stain on his cheek.

So, I’m sitting here trying to think of an example usage of “compound”, and I’m getting nothing. It’s just not there.

A compound is a mixture of multiple things. Chemical compounds in your brain change the way you think and react to things. Compounds and chemicals are tricky beings and I don’t like them. Compound can also mean build upon. Compound interest happens at banks. Compounds are where people go to live during bad times. Religions have them sometimes.
She watched the birds flutter over the wall. It was unsurprising really, that she was so fascinated with the birds’ flight. She had never left the compound, and no one she’d known had even left the outer garden gates. The Mock-Birds flew in and out all day though.
He couldn’t hold it in everything was just too much. The walls were getting smaller. The doors were closing in. Too many people. Just too many people surrounding him. He had to get away. He had to… but he couldn’t. everything was too close together. He couldn’t move.
We left t the compound to look for more supplies. It was a quiet sunny day. We would almost think to drop out guard but we know better.
