He stood on the lip of the ridge looking down on the crater below. The dust swirled around the dancing figures below and he watched as a pair of dancers closed. They spun and twisted until one of them fell; victim to the other’s blade. It was time to rally the troops to prepare the final assault.

I honestly don’t know why people rally over things such as politics and other issues. It just doesn’t mean much in the end does it? Broken promises. Empty promises to begin with. Everyone leaves disappointed. My point? I don’t really have one. Convictions are difficult. But so are people.
By Lindsay on 09.13.2011
Rally is something that happens when people, or even one person, rise up for a cause. It could be rallying to beat that damn boss in a video game when you’re ALMOST dead.. or rallying against wrongs against civil or human rights. It’s just a rally! KICK ASS!
By Erin on 09.13.2011
The rally cry was loud and physical. Everyone screamed to have their voice heard. It was beautiful and sad. I don’t know what they were screaming for. I screamed alongside them.
By JM on 09.13.2011
as we rallied together to fight against the oposer. only one thought came into my head. i have to do this. this is not for me. its for everybody and everything that isnt me. and thats why i did it. why i risked my life and limb. because this was for something much bigger then me.
By Katie on 09.13.2011
we stood out there, and we rallied for what we thought was right, what we thought would change the world. we stood in the cold, wet, snow and took our hats and mitts off to put a hand up for humanity. to me, it felt warm, it felt like home.

I rally up and down the street. My mom was mad. that’s only cause she’s jealous. I mean who wouldn’t be? I’m fucking gorgeous. That’s called I rally up and down the street. Like a boss.

Everyone was gathered outside. The air hung thick above the trees with smoke and the stars were dimmed. It was frigid, but no one cared. On an occasion like this, there was no time to worry about the weather.
People passed along their pipes and blew out grey puffs that quickly dissolved in the moonlight. The building shook with the feet pounding on its foundation. Tonight they would dance.

when you rally you dont really know what direction you will end up in. will i go to loud and embarress myself or just go with it. or even be my self . you can do this in tones of different ways but why plan it. just go with what you want to go for at that very moment.

I sat in the middle of the group, wandering what I would say when my turn came. Grief counseling, I never thought I would need it, till the love of my life died. This whole thing, felt like God had rallied against me, like everything in the world was meant to hurt me…

people getting together for a cause. To come behind someone in support. To group around. To bet here for someone. To get people together for a cause. Support by a group. to stand around and be there for someone .
By Wendy on 09.13.2011
I don’t have much experience with rally’s. I have never been the protestor type,, never wNting to “put myself out there” so to speak. I suppose there are other types of rallys.
By Becca on 09.13.2011
Pep rallys, make people proud of who they are, who they’re apart of and who they have become. Makes us whole. In a society, in a school, in a team and in a friendship. Everyone comes together for joy.
By Suman Sandhu on 09.13.2011
when people rally they tend to focus on one main thing, but then get caught up into all the commotion often leading to problems such as riots. rallies can be useful to politicans and others. overall, they are great to have if controlled.

She sat beside him, the energy radiating from within and without her. She was here, with him, in the bleachers. Their school colors were everywhere, there mascot running up and down the court. They were cheering, together. They were rallying together for the same thing for the first time.

A rally could be used for reasons both positive and negative. It could be used to raise hopes in time of despair, or it could be used as a tool to spread an evil or immoral message across the world.

Rally the troops; that’s the first thing that comes to mind. My mind. Mine. Mind. Careful not to make the typo, but there it is all the same. Rally the troops. Rally them quickly before it’s too late. It’s too late.

Gallop, gallop, gallop, gallop! The crowd hallered at the pigs, soaring around the track. Their teeth jutted like splintered wood chips, and slobber poured off them into the air.
By Max Robinette on 09.13.2011
The rally started just a few minutes late. No one noticed that the teleprompter, placed strategically in the center of the crowd, was set to german rather than english. When Hawkins got to the dais to begin his speech, no one was surprised by his ability to snow the masses…even in german.

rally is an odd word. It is filled with excitement i would say. like a possible pep rally, or drag rally, or…. that is all i have. but certainly excitement, almost scary, like you should be prepared for something intense and upbeat. always be prepared for anything though
By Kelsey Hauser on 09.13.2011
I used to mock pep rallies. My friend and I would laugh at the cheerleaders and their failure to make us “pepped.” Sometimes I wish I hadn’t failed so much at just enjoying being a teenager. MAybe no one enjoys it. Maybe I enjoyed the angst so much I couldn’t enjoy the fun. I don’t know. Life is weird.
There have been rally’s taking place over the world. “SlutWalk.” And I rally in them. I rally because I can. I rally because I want to. I rally because I have a place there. I rally because I am a woman and I am damn tired of being treated so poor. I rally because I was a victim. And I never deserved it.

They clustered together, chattering excitedly. Waves of emotion ran through the crowd: excitement, optimism. They were filled with the hope of youth, the belief that this generation would change the world.

It was the last possible moment and he knew it — if it didn’t happen right now it never would. He wished he could enlist his friends, but he didn’t have any friends. This was a solo mission, like all his missions were.

is it bad that the first thing that comes to my mind is boot and rally? the idea of coming back from a low moment, of convincing yourself that it is okay to get back up and get back on the keg stand when you no longer know your own name?
By outdoors URL on 09.13.2011
In high school we had rallies every time there was a big game or a big event on campus. It was fun because each grade got to do something really cool, but the seniors had the most fun. Our school colors were green and gold so the beginning of each rally would start with the green guys and gold girls running out into the auditorium.
By Rachel URL on 09.13.2011
let’s rally and support each other. let’s rally and help make the world a better place. let’s take all our ideas and put them into one big movement; let’s rally.

The wind blew her hair as she stood amongst the rally, the cars whipping by stirred the slumbering air into a frenzy.

Why can’t we rally together as a human race? We tear each other apart rather than pull together. We have so much more in common than we have have differences. We all yearn for love and acceptance. Rally rally rally around each other!

Everyone get together, a large group in a large opening. Picket signs waving in the air, shouts, long hair, smiles, hugging, throwing things, applause. Forrest Gump in times square.

I wish I could rally the world behind health care that actually works. I have had my whole perception turned upside down and yet I still can’t get everyone behind it because of the many years they’ve been exposed to traditional medicine. even though it doesn’t work people keep going back for more. It breaks my heart.

It was the call of the restless masses of weak souls. It was the one person who was brave enough to raise his God-given voice in humble protest. It was beautiful. It was once. It is no more. The rallying cry.
