Les feuilles ambrées tombaient sur la chaussée tandis que mes pensées filaient au grès de leur vol. Je levai les yeux, et vis leur reflet dans ses yeux noisette.

autumn is the season right before winter and right after summer. autumn is cold but usually it doesn’t snow a lot like winter does but it is not hot at all.

The wind rattles through the trees in that way that makes it feel like something is coming, something strange and fleshless and unfriendly. Pull your coat around yourself and hurry home, don’t stop to look over your shoulder, don’t stand under streetlights alone.

It was the time of year that Sam hated most, the dying world around him not yet covered with the healing and beauty of the snow, the ferocious cold, and everything that came with his favorite season, winter.
By Sebastian on 11.07.2011
His life was coming to a close. He knew it, just like he knew that every chapter had and end and every season had a finish. He was in his autumn years and was just waiting for winter.
By Mel on 11.07.2011
it’s the fall again
time for endings
it’s autumn now
and you won’t forget him
when you lose your love
and let him go
we’ll remember the summer
and where your love grew
but with the ending
you’ll find yourself
raking up leaves
and dressing in reds
mourning your losses
and collecting old pieces
of your old memories
of what your life has been through
so count your blessings
and make a pie
make way for winter
and say goodbye

I’m in the other side of the Globe, where it’s really (REALLY) hot these days and my autumn leaves have already fallen a few months earlier, but I still love Autumn lights, and airs, and sound of breaking leaves in the ground.

There was a breeze, it captured my hair and captivated my sight. As I saw my hair twirling in the cold autum wind, my heart caught-I have seen this before. Not my hair, no, whit his hair. His hair catching the wind in little tufts.

Orange. Red. Yellow. My birthday. cool breazez and the doorway to the christmas season. sweaters and boots. family and rain. cozy.

The autumn season began to change the leaves. The browns, dark shades of greens and oranges filled the roads lined with trees. The detective, driving along this unfamiliar road could feel more than just the weather changing, but there was a shift in the air that made something feel wrong. It didn’t quite fit and it was her job to figure out what it was.

The leaves crunch underfoot. The sun slants and turns orange. These were the “Orange Hours” of my childhood. I became dark and gloomy then. I found out about melancholy — a beautiful sadness — during the Orange Hours. I rearranged furniture, closed drapes, listened to music and turned inwards

Turning, turning, against golds and reds and chilly air. She fell finally in a heap of those leaves, a puff of air escaping her lips as she looked up and around her with gold eyes.

Autumn is a funny time. Not quite cold enough to be winter, but getting too cold for summer. Do you wear shorts or thermal underwear? But its also one of the most beautiful, with all the colours in the trees.
By Aaron on 11.07.2011
autumn is a time of year were people are most enjoyable, the atmosphere is amazing and all can feel the love being shared by everyone. Autumn is often used in movies to display romance and many other love like things, It is also the name of my first girl friend and wow was she beautiful. I have never seen anything like Autumn before she is amazings.
By Kyle on 11.07.2011
In autumn, winter is knocking on the door. It looks like autumn for only two weeks. After the leaves turn, it is only fleeting before they fall off the trees, and the bareness of winter begins. Autumn is a transitional time of year for trees and for children heading back to school.
By sue on 11.07.2011
crisp and clean! it is so beautiful and colorful! the leaves are falling.
By sophi on 11.07.2011
Leaves falling to the ground and scattering across he pavement, they create a marmalade tide hugging the fence line as I meander down the road on my way home from work. It’s cold but I’m wrapped up warm, cosy and safe. It’s perfect.

She wanted an autumnal dress
To wear with her golden slippers
And crimson smile
She wanted to feel like the leaves
were the wisps of hair that curled around her cheek
She thought she was a season
Until winter came

leaves are falling from the trees.
My best friend.
We’ve done everything together, climbed every hill, kissed eachother’s cuts and bruises.
I wouldn’t. No couldn’t be me without her.
My older sister.
We fight, but we also love, and that’s all

it is beautiful.
i see apples turning red and yellow,
i see pumpkins being carved,
and i see crows in the air crowing.

I walk, it’s dark. Leaves fall around me creating a marmalade tide caressing the hedge line as I meander down the road towards home. It’s cold but I’m cosy, wrapped up warm.

The leaves are falling all around and I can smell the pumpkins in the distance. I can’t believe it has been a year since i have seen her warm smile. I can’t wait to embrace her slowly and feel her breathe upon mine. Oh my love how I yearn for you and need you in my life.

autumn is an open door
for all seasons.
snow can blizzard,
rain can drizzle,
wind can cry,
sun can ray,
kids can laugh.
red leaves, dipping low, getting lower, crisp light, golden red, crunch, structure again, school, clear, vivid, warm , auburn, high collars, drifting apart and you killed jacobi
By Hannah Harte on 11.07.2011
the train bleets before me
it’s light finish my eyes
the wheels clattering
Orange and maple. The coolness and the smells of winter descending. Leaves gather slowly at the base of trees, gnarled piles raking. Scarves emerge, memories become padded and muted with color, hope. A time of school, a great comfort, the hand of my teachers, the eyes, the mouths. “I make my face look like this and the concerned words come out.” A time when my imagination was brighter, vivid, almost desperate in it’s clarity, scattering.
By Imogen on 11.07.2011
It broke off with the force of the wind, swirling through the air and softly landing onto the grass with a gentle thud. Staying stationary for a while, until the wind picked up again and blew it off down the street. As the maple leaf flew through the street, it observed the picturesque setting of the street mesmerizingly. The tall and mighty trees draped over the street, creating a canopy overhead. Their branches outstretched like arms reaching for each other from across the road. And each leaf upon the branch a different shade, creating a montage of colour splattered randomly throughout the sky. As the leaf passed each tree carried by the wind that rustled through the branches, setting free the few lucky leaves to dance happily away. It danced among the rest, riding the breeze with no worries, taking in the serene surroundings as the journey down the street continued.

The entire autumn fit in a sock. All the leaves and frosts and deaths and chickens rustling in low sun, everything autumn, the time change and woodsmoke: all in a sock, tied with a knot and heaved out into the cold tranquility of stars.
