  9. I pulled over. Yellow tape everywhere trying to warn me, to warn us that whatever lay behind was dangerous. MILITARY ZONE. It was devious. It was something we learned about in school for years and were supposed to be wary and afraid of.
    “You ready?” She asked.
    I smiled.
    “Let’s go.”

  12. This is my zone, it’s where I go when I can’t find another shelter. It’s warm, it’s comfy, it keeps me safe and it’s already very familiar to me.
    The only problem is that when I get inside once, the doors leading out lock themselves.

  16. i felt like i could accomplish anything. my mind was in the right place, my ambition had seen levels unlike anything recently. it probably wasn’t much to someone who wasn’t mentally ill, but to me, it was everything. i hoped to parallel the success i was achieving and see the effects it had firsthand, but until that happened, i would simply have to wait.
