  1. Some people’s favorite part of Wintertime is the color red. Rudolph’s red nose. Santa’s outfit. Red Christmas lights and wrapping paper. I like it because of the beautiful shade of red when there’s blood shed in the snow.

  2. In wintertime, when the snow falls in gentle spirals from the slate-gray sky, Myra stands in the window and wishes for a cat, a bird, a husband, a child – something to turn to and say “Look! It’s snowing!”

  3. The weather had rapidly taken a turn for the worse. The squirrel

  4. Wintertime is the best, there’s snow and holidays and cold and fun things. Fun things like hot chocolate and snowball fights and fireplaces and snuggling. Wintertime means that the air smells really clean and crisp and even hurts a little. I love how it’s a reboot for mother nature, covering everything in snow so that it can “die” for a season.

  5. The snow covered the ground in a thin layer, birds were strugling to find food People fro all walks of life were wrapped up with scaeves and mufflers. The man on the street corner shrugged it off and continued to hold his hand out fr money. The kids on the corner had found some boards that were nailed together and they were using this to slide down all the local hills. The trees were thick with a covering of snow

  6. a chill in the air
    snowflakes melt on eyelashes
breath comes out in a huff
    clouding in the air
coarse-knit mittens barely keeping fingers warm
hold my hands so i don’t freeze

  7. snow shivers to earth
catch some flakes on your tongue
    wintertime spreads here

  8. Justin and Paris gripped onto each other. It was bitter cold and they were shivering with the cold. They don’t have anywhere to go, They walk through the thick, deep snow to a nearby shop. They stand inside trying to keep warm. They go up to the counter and ask for a hot chocolate each. They both drink them and get a bit warmer. “I am very cold” Says Paris. Justin walks outside and into another shop. He buys a really warm jacket and give it to Paris. “Thanks” Said Paris. “No problem” Says Justin.

I really like winter…but its just…Its vey cold and me and Justin always get a cold. Mother doesn’t have money and used any pennies she had to buy us food. Mother died last week and now me and Justin have no where to go. Summer and Spring will be ok but Winter and Autumn are really hard. Mother gave us $10 before she died and we have now only $5 left…We ain’t gonna survive this month, never mind this week.

  9. Wintertime is a wonderful time.Christmas is coming up, and there is snow falling down. Children make snow angels and snow men. Christmas is really fun because you get presents and give presents and best of all SANTA comes!!

    Santa Claus is amazing

  10. The wind blew harshly against the pink-tinted noses and cheeks of Evelyn and Lucas; both were wrapped tightly in layers upon layers, though the thick clothing seemed to do nothing against the sharp gusts attacking them.

Albeit her fingers were frozen beneath her woollen gloves, Evelyn bent down to scoop a pile of snow into her hand, shaping it into a ball and soaking her soft gloves in the process. With a grin spread widely across a face she jumped in front of her brother and launched it from her palm.

Lucas froze as the snow slid down his face. Evelyn was barely keeping in her squeaking giggles from the sight and shrieked when Lucas started to stride towards her determinedly.

  11. then it’s a cold cold cosy time. i imagine snow. and walking. living outside but want to be inside. winter when nature is apparently dead but resting and getting stronger for the next summer. it’s contemplation. everything is wrapped.

  12. Wintertime is here and the best part of this season is the celebration of Christmas. Of course we know that Jesus was not born at this time of the year, but does it matter? We are simply celebrating the fact that he was born at all.

  13. The cold frost left a chill upon everything it touched, tainting it with it’s consuming coldness. It was wintertime in the hills and this was the time that this girl wished she were a bear. Wished she could hibernate and simply bypass this cold by drifting into a warm sleep.

    by Peggy on 12.22.2014
  14. Its cold and sharp. My face feels like a burnt out light bulb. Ice flakes off of my hair and into the snowy roads. Cold. Dark.

    by gepp on 12.21.2014
  15. I know nothing of winter time. I’m very much a child of the sun. Nothing about the cold, miserable winter appeals to me. Why would I voluntarily stand in a mess of falling ice? Sure, it’s pretty to look at, but beauty can always be appreciated from a distance. I will never understand the wintertime.

    by em on 12.21.2014
  16. It’s always cold. I see people wear shorts in the middle of winter and all I can think at the time is “how insane” and I’m usually being questioned for my insanity. I have to use more than two covers to keep mysef warm at night because winter is like a death wish. Wintertime is like the alter ego of summer. Ever since the cold came I haven’t left my house.

    by Shannon Lucas on 12.21.2014
  17. wintertime like mint snowflakes crystallizing on my tongue, and all I am is the lack of you. this week I will find myself in the same places I held your mitten-fingers last year, and I will feel the wind sharper than I did then.

  18. winter solstices mark one month:

    i’m tied to you baby
through and through with it baby

take me out on your crash course
take me out just buying time
take me out to fill the void
take me out every night of your life

    i’m trying baby
crying and crying for you baby

    kill me euphoria
take me out during trying times
i’ll be there everytime you decide to try

    we’ll mend eventually (x2)

  19. holy fuck the winter, this one, the last one and the next 50, i dedicate to you. whether you’re beside me, or five thousand miles away, winter will always remind me of you. my entrance, your cold little nose, the weakness in my knees and the way my body was electrocuted every time we kissed, and a piece of my being disappeared with you every time you walked out the door. every winter, i’ll close my eyes and see your tiny body buried in my crisp white bed and in the back of my head, just before i open my eyes, i’ll hear your whimpering shortness of breath, and i’ll go back to that night, in the winter time, before the door opened.

  20. It had been years since she’d last set foot in the Northern town but, despite the low temperatures, she remembered the wintertime as a beautiful, warm thing. And yet, as she stepped onto the dock, her wind whipping around her, the city of Calais was quiet and oddly void of life.

  21. The snow falls and I can feel the chill but I don’t mind. The holidays are almost here and the world is winter wonderland. Everything is white and the holiday music makes me smile. I can’t wait to go skiing because i love wintertime.

  22. This place is only ever like the wintertime. Cold and gray… yet oh so beautiful.
The gray can become boring, but then all of the magical little charms come out and make you fall in love.
I suppose that’s why this place made me fall for him. I love winter.

  24. There are lots of things to do in the wintertime, but I choose to watch TV and drink hot cocoa instead. Why sled when I can stay in bed, reading my favorite books? Why ski when I can snuggle with you on the couch in the den? Why bury myself in the snow outside, when inside, it is warm? The wintertime can be for fun and games – for me, it’s for the comfort of a home and central heating, thanking my lucky stars for the things I own and the people in my life.

  25. My favorite time of year…you can go skating, skiing, snowshoeing. I love the cold winter days when the frost hangs beautifully on the trees. I love to lay in the fresh snow and make snow angels.

  26. Thea never did like winter. Spring was always her favourite season because everything came alive – even in the concrete jungle. Winter always seemed like a dead season to her. It wasn’t so much the cold, but the dreariness. People rushed along the streets with their heads down, eager to return to the warmth of their homes. No one lurked in the parks or outside the 7/11 which meant that Thea could go days without seeing a single one of her friends.

  27. Wintertime is the time of the year for your bones to chill and your blood to cool. For your soul to seek comfort in the arms of a friend. If you forget how to feel just crawl back to me. I know the wind whips at your face and I want to kiss the scars away.

    by Destanye Brooks on 12.21.2014
  28. The snow looked like dust. The sky was white and gray. It was wintertime. It was too cold. I was trapped in my house again. But at least I could sip hot chocolate and wear my cozy clothes all day long.

    by Kat on 12.21.2014
  29. wintertime always seems to be the hardest for me. i become as cold as the ice that coats the roads and as distant as the sun that hides and blurs its edges for months on end.

  30. Wintertime.
    It was exciting.
SNOWFLAKES landing on eyelashes, sipping hot chocolate without a care in the world. Being with friends, singing lame christmas carols through out the night.
    Exciting,
and ringing in the new year by jumping off beds and hollering at the TV

  31. are the barest fruits the little hearts of young deer
    frozen in earthen rapid life

  32. i LOVE IT. IT MAKE ME FEEL COZY. I KNOW ITS IRONIC BECAUSE ITS FREAKING IN THAT TIME, BUT I DONT KNOW.. SOMETHING ABOUT IT MAKES ME FEEL WARM AND JUST FULL OF LIFE WHEN I SEE SNOW ON THE TREES AND THE LANDS. ITS JUST SIMPLY AMAZING. iTS MY FAVORITE OUT OF ANY OTHER TIME OF THE YEAR. THE WAY THE SNOW FALLS DOWN ON YOU AND TICKLES YOUR NOSE.

  34. In the wintertime nothing is sublime. Or subtle, even the cold sun is either there or not, sometimes just a dollop of cold candy

    by Jennifer on 12.21.2014
  35. Wintertime in New York is unlike other places. Soon falls and gives hope, which gives hope to disappointment as it falls and disintegrates into the concrete, warmed by the life-force of the city streets. wintertime is cold, soulless, lit up and dressed as a lie of warmth and love.

  36. Cold miserable weather- but a time of year when good celebrations bring warmth to
    Our hearts- thanksgiving and Christmas.

    by Kat on 12.21.2014
  37. The bells rang throughout the streets and everything was cold and still even though the wind blew in harsh, nippy gusts. The last of the shoppers were hurrying home now, getting in their cars or trains or taxi cabs and swearing under their breath because they were late and couldn’t make it on time. The snow continued to fall.

    by Sara on 12.21.2014
  38. Wintertime, it’s fantastic. I get a bunch of gifts, I give a bunch of gifts, it’s a great time. I don’t really know what else to say, if someone doesn’t get any gifts for Christmas, I’d be happy to share mine with you

  39. She had always loved wintertime, for reasons she did not know. She wasn’t born in Winter, and her family didn’t like the holidays very much, but something about the cold snow and the festive lights never ceased to amaze her.

    by Tami on 12.21.2014
  40. The cold sent a chill through both of us and I clutched onto James’ arm, hanging from it like a little kid. He glanced down at me and smiled. Wintertime was my favorite. The snow, cold, all the lights, and everyone just seemed so friendly.
