  1. the wicker rockers on my front porch are ratty. Falling apart. I pick at the broken spots that poke up, and you can look at the the porch through the wicker–just like you used to be able to see the road through the floor of our vw bug when I was growing up.
Just lift the board and the road passed you by.

  2. Someone who lights a wick. The man who walks around at night lighting the wicks of lonely, desolte lamp posts in london. The man who enables the lonely lampposts to shine a single ray of light into a desolte world without light, if only for a single wanderer in the night to find his way illuminated.

  3. The chair bottom was busted out, moldy. Wicker doesn’t do well unless carefully tended and protected from the elements. The house was falling down, covered in ivy, sad through and through. Not a good prospect.

  4. I sat in the wicker raft, and looked at the clean air around me. Not a speck of water, not a droplett of moisture. Damn desert. I could see faint shadows looming in between the dunes, teasing mm, letting me pretend shade was in the distance. Damn shade. Damn desert. Damn wicker.

  5. I used to imagine a heart made of wood

    Love that is

    Easily burnt

    Easily broken

    Growing from something so small

    Slowly

    Trustingly

    Into something bigger

    More

    And with that

    Us

    Easily burnt

    By one word

    One touch

    One second

  8. The basket in the corner smelled of pee. It was unfortunate. it was more than unfortunate, really. This was the house he grew up in.

His grandparents were getting old. There wasn’t any doubt about that. There wasn’t any money to put them in a home, but they couldn’t stay like this.

As he approached the basket, it was all he could do to hope that a cat hadn’t crawled in there and died. Don’t let there be a dead cat in this pee smelling basket…

  9. Wicker baskets remind me of my childhood. My mom’s friends were mad about them. We had so many of them all over the place.

Also, wicker chairs remind me of simpler times, times I wish I could have again. Sitting on the porch in a wicker rocking chair.

  18. baskets are made of wicker. but they break really easy, so i would never want one. what if one of my larger friends came over? i dont want to have to buy a new one if someone breaks it. that was mean, but wicker isn’t that durable. it makes me think of easter because people collect eggs in wicker baskets.

  20. The wicker basket was always an amusement of mine, a hobby if you will. Whenever I looked in it, new items appeared, magically, some would say. I knew my grandma stored new things in it though, but i didn’t want to spoil the illusion.

  21. baskets creepy also there’s a movie about a wicker man, i think it’s a horror movie. perhaps it’s about a man who makes baskets and puts the pieces of his victims in said boxes. i will probably never know, because i will probably never watch the wicker man.

  24. wicker is wickedly wicker. I’m not quite sure what wicker means but if wickers sicker than i am today than it means wicker could never be healthy, no never be healthy, i said i’m quite healthy, but if wicker is sicker than i am today perhaps it should not be a basket. is it diseased? is of a leper? did a leper make said wicker basket?

  28. What is a wicker chair used for. To sit out side where everyone can see each other and everyone can pretend to get along. If there is a fire you hide in the wicker chair to avoid their stairs. And you always know if you get up some one will try to steal it.

  36. Wicker cabinets remind me of the beach. Every summer we would go to Dauphin Island and spend time with all of our extended family. Good memories remain but are overshadowed by the current state of this family. Trying to make new memories is the hardest thing, trying to erase the bad and replace them with new ones.

  38. there wasa once a whicker basket. it couldnt help but be noticed by all the other whicker baskets for its brilliant golden finish. However, due to the baskets origins in the dirty south, it was shunned on a soical level and seen as inferior. Whicker basket discrimination is a big probelem in the basket comunity.
