  14. The welfare of the people should be the main concern of the government but who are the people. The citizens of a nation organized by communities, by families and ultimately simply individuals. All the parts need to be healthy for the whole to be healthy.

  15. Welfare has the most negative sound to it. Sadly.

However welfare, and the concern for others, is something that we should all aspire towards. Care for one another. Be concerned with the welfare of all.

  16. 1. The welfare of the people is the state’s highest goal.

    2. As such, the welfare of the people is guaranteed by the state.

    3. In persuence of this goal, the state will not tolerate the welfare of the people being infringed by neer-do-wells.

    4. Hence, all neer-do-wells should report to central processing for welfare reeducation.

    5. Those neer-do-wells who do not report for reeducation should note clause three of the state’s guarantee to the people. This clause will be enforced.

  22. it might not be what every one appreciates, but the general welfare of people all around the world is really important. I don’t exactly know what welfare means, but I think it’s about the treatment and general help that people get from the government, ranging from healthcare, education and so on. The welfare in Malaysia, I really cannot

  23. “I live on welfare” said the woman with a small voice.

The one of the ladies continued talking, but the other held her hand up and stopped her.

  24. Welfare isn’t something that the world knows much about these days, or rather, doesn’t really care. We see celebrities caring about hungry children in Africa or adopting children from far off places but is that really caring about welfare? They often forget that it isn’t only children that need the help but adults who are suffering as well. What about that woman in the hospital whose body is slowly wilting away under the evil clutches of cancer or the man by the roadside who has nothing to eat and is dying?

  25. Welfare. Welfare. Talk about welfare is rampant since it’s election season here in Malaysia. The word rolls of the tongue funny. Reading the news and all BN can talk about is how they are gonna improve welfare of the people- sickly, elderly, children, women, workers, men, Chinese, Malay, Indian, Sabahan, Sarawakians…

  26. Do not worry about the people’s welfare, for they are strong and persevering, and they will not rest until every one of their injured is cured, and they will not sleep until the children stop crying with hunger, and they will not close their eyes until their city is, once more, beautiful. They will thrive.

  28. He asks me how I am one day, very suddenly over the phone.

“I’m doing fine,” I manage to croak, while rubbing sleep out of my eyes and nearly falling out of bed. “What are you doing, calling me at the ass-crack of dawn?” I hear rustling from his end and I think that he’s not out of bed yet either.

“I missed you,” he says. My breath catches in my throat and I lie stone-still under my duvet. It’s oppressively hot.

“What,” I say more than ask. “Look, you don’t get to do this with me–”

    “Honestly,” he says. “I do.”

  30. This matter has become a serious issue of public welfare. For the safety and well-being of both boys and girls I am seriously considering wearing burlap bags and veils when I go out. Apparently I’m just too much for people’s hearts (or libidos) to handle.

  31. He was it, everything, all of it. Her welfare, her well being lay within him and his decisions. She loved him with all of her heart. She just wished that he could see it. If he payed enough attention he would be able to see it in her eyes and hear it in her voice.

  32. She checked my pulse, looked at all my vitals, and once she was satisfied, sat down beside my bed.

“Are you happy?” She asked me suddenly, breaking the silence that had fallen around us.

“I’m in the hospital, recovering from gunshots.” I told her skeptically.

“You didn’t answer my question.” She said softly. I shrugged and turned away from her. She sighed and moved to leave, but before she did, she held my hand, and kissed my forehead.

“I’m just looking out for you and your…. welfare.” And then she left.

they sat on the sidewalk in warm and in cold
hand in hand, the fingers they hold

where someone had scribbled some boxes with chalk

  40. It’s something that people think or look down on it. There´s some people who judge or feel pity for those who use it. But if it helps other people go on and have a better life go for it.
