  15. I’ve always loved wagons. They have always been fun and cozy. I always have had the image of going to a parade in a wagon with a blanket to sit in/on. Wagons are sort of like portable cozy hideouts for little kids, I only wish they had wagons for older/taller people. It would be kind of neat to have a wagon sort of like a trailer with a weather-proof roof and heating. This wagon I’m imagining right now would have pockets/compartments and a squishy floor to lay on. It would sort of be like a bicycle trailer home.

  18. I just wrote about a wagon. Why do i have this word again? I would thikn they would want the word to be changed. Does it always start off with this same word? If so, this owuld be a waste of time to use in class. I am not sure many of these students have even used a wagon before. I guess we could have been thinking about a farm wagon. The kind that is used to carry corn.

  21. animals; it was formerly often called a wain, and if low and sideless may be called a dray, trolley or float.

Wagons are pulled by animals such as horses, mules or oxen, and are used for transporting goods, agricultural materials or sometimes people. Wagons are distinguished from carts, which have two wheels, and from lighter four-wheeled vehicles for carrying people, such as carriages. A wagon may be pulled by one animal or by several, often in pairs.

To enable the wagon to turn in as little space as possible, the front pair of wheels are often made smaller than the rear pair to allow them to turn close under the vehicle sides,[1] and to allow them to turn still further the wagon body may be waisted. The front wheels of trolleys and floats are small enough to turn under the vehicle’s body.
A station wagon (also known as an estate or estate car) is a body style variant of a sedan/saloon with its roof extended rearward[1] over a shared passenger/cargo volume with access at the back via a third or fifth door (the liftgate or tailgate), instead of a trunk lid. The body style transforms a standard three-box design into a two-box design — to include an A, B & C-pillar, as well as a D pillar. Station wagons feature flexibility to allow configurations that either favor passenger or cargo volume, e.g., fold-down rear seats.

The American Heritage Dictionary defines a station wagon as “an automobile with one or more rows of folding or removable seats behind the driver and no luggage compartment but an area behind the seats into which suitcases, parcels, etc., can be loaded through a tailgate.” [2]

When a model range includes multiple body styles such as sedan, hatchback and station wagon, the models typically share their platform, drivetrain and bodywork forward of the A-pillar. In 1969, Popular Mechanics said “station wagon-style follows that of the production sedan of which it is a counterpart, most are on the same wheelbase, offer the same transmission and engine options, and the same comfort and convenience options.”[3]

Station wagons have evolved from their early use as specialized vehicles to carry people and luggage to and from a train station, and have experienced worldwide marketing.

  28. A catastrophe–the wagon has tipped. He lies in dirt, knee and shin and cheek scraped upon his left side. A wounded warrior, rising bravely to strike vengeance, through tear-streaked eyes, upon his attacker: Miranda, age six, and best slingshot in the neighborhood. Also, fastest tree climber. She taunts him from on high, while he screams that his mommy is going to tell her mommy. In two kitchens, simultaneously, two mothers sigh, and one prepares band-aids and peroxide while the other hides a secret smile.

  38. In one of my earliest memories, I am riding down the narrow hallway of my house in a purple tricycle that has a wagon attatched to it. In the wagon I haveplaced my most precious stuffed animals, and as I come to the doorway of my bedroom, I can see my dad fixing my TV. I call to him “Daddy, Daddy! Look at my stuffed animals!” He replied “I see, I see!”
    Such a wonderful memory.

  39. She stared at the sails as if they were a covered wagon.

“What?” Pinkie snapped, glaring at her, “I suppose you’ve never actually seen sails this pink, eh? And they’re not even their proper colors– they’ve faded in the sunlight. They sed to be muuuch nicer. But Edward was never good with the amount of bleach he used.”

“Listen,” said Cornelia, “I’ve never seen sails that color. Don’t they hurt peoples’ sensibilities?”

“They always scream when we come around, but I think that’s more because we’re pirates than anything.” Pinkie mused.

  40. Shit. If that wagon hadn’t fallen. I wouldn’t have hurt her. If if if. It’s all I can concentrate on damn. Her leg’s broken. What will I do? Her parents….? No, fuck her parents, it’s my own conscience berating me right now. Not them.
