  20. Trot? why trot when you can run? I guess a trot is ok sometimes because you don’t go too fast and you don’t go too slow. it is the path of moderation that you take, so you can’t really be wrong. you can trot anywhere. You could trot forever and never get tired. Always moving, always going somewhere. Why run? what’s the hurry?

  29. The horse rode at a nice trot. I don’t know anything about horses. To me a horse trot is frightening. Personally, I prefer to walk. A quick walk. But a trot is too fast. Even on my own 2 legs.

  35. The horse began to trot briskly as they neared the castle, as if even from a mile away he could smell the fresh oats and hot mash waiting for him.

The rider smiled at his steed’s eagerness. The thought of his wife, stirring a pot of stew, waiting for him brought him pleasure. In a few minutes, his children would be exclaiming over the trinkets he had brought them.

He kicked the horse into a gallop. A trot wasn’t fast enough for getting home.

  39. We started at a slow crawl, sometimes not moving at all. We’d drag ourselves a few feet and then collapse, in a pile of our own indecision. But then something happened. A spark. A realization. A something. And then we picked ourselves up, got on our feet, started speed walking, trotting, jogging… and now…. who knows how far and how fast we’ll move.

  40. let’s go for a trot! he said to her, and she laughed at his terminology. She had never thought of what she did as “trotting”, always “running”. She liked the sound of it, however. It was somehow more light-hearted and playful, subtracting a great deal of the intimidation of exercise that usually existed in her mind.
