  1. I allowed the texture to take prominence
Over the aroma, the taste, display and service
it turned my tongue to a blind man’s hand
tossing the buds to a quivering quench
until the skin split and the juices flowed
parting at tonsils, flooding down my throat
    I am transformed, inside out

Whether transformation is good or bad is quite controversial. A little caterpillar transforming into a wonderful butterfly is fantastic but a sweet little girl transforming into a mean teenager would definitely not be considered good.

  13. Transformation is something entirely complicated in itself. How do you take something that you have had for so long, and change it? For instance, your body. The thing you look at everyday, what takes you to and from places, what has your back, literally. You can be big boned, skinny, surrounded by fat, whatever – as long as you know it’s you, that’s your body. So how do you transform what you’re so used to? How do you break the patter that has kept you so ordered for so long? Transformation, in itself, seems to be hard to understand and hard to do in general. Change is hard.

Wenige Sekunden später sind sie Haus. Sie schauen sich eine Grille, eine Straße, Luft an und kurze Zeit später sind sie all das. Sie können sogar alles gleichzeitig sein.
