  2. my baby is in a swing right now. it is the only way that she will sleep. i wonder if she will ever sleep in her crib anymore. i wish i could be swinging outside.. i love that feeling. i felt so free when i was a kid swinging so high. i always wanted to swing all the way over the top of the swing set. i would swing so hard that i would bounce off my seat. i wasn’t scared. I miss that feeling.

  6. swing is the name of that song that my dad gave to me, my favourite line in it is: oh you mothers, oh you fathers, keeping watch on your sons and your daughters, you pass onto them all the sins you won’t mend. i like that line because it is about how we are influenced by our parents. everyone is mad, and they pass they’re madness onto the most vulnerable people in their lives

  8. Swinging on the rope attached to the tree branch the two sisters fell screaming and giggling into the clear blue river below. This was the best day they had had in quite awhile. The sky was clear blue and the trees provided the perfect place to climb and explore.

  19. a play thing for children, can be heaps of fun, i played for hours on a swing with my nephew on the holidays, he would stand up on a chair and jump 30 cm whch is a long way when your only 60 cm high

  20. swinging on a branch is fun, but I prefer to swing on a trapeze. Been doing it for years. Swing swing swing. Sometimes its all I think about swinging — flying. I just can’t get enough. Swinging gets me of the ground, off the tangibility of life.

  22. swings bring back fond memories of the park near my childhood home. THere was a seahorse shaped swing and a horse one too. in a playground next to an
    new elementary school. Now my daughter attends school there. No swing any longer….

  24. when i was kid i used to always fight with my older brother to get a chance to go on our swing. i would love getting “under doggies” probably the most fun i have ever had has a kid. now when i see a swing i can still enjoy the freedom of flying through the air. now i do back flips and jump off competitions, and i cant get enough of it.

  35. Some of my fondest memories are on or near a swing. I have fell for someone. I have fell to the ground and scraped my knee. I have watched others fall in comical ways. Sometimes, Swinging back and forth makes you eventually come into contact with the unavoidable gravity.

  39. we had swings when i was a kid, but they were lethal, if you got your foot stuck under the foot thing it was agony. so many kids in the neighbourhood made that mistake. pendulums swing, ropes swing. sometimes i swing.

  40. I always wanted to be able to swing in my backyard. Seems like iconic, suburban, Americana. My first problem was learning HOW to swing myself. This didn’t happen until like 4th grade, probably BECAUSE we never had the swingset.
