  1. oh ok, stunts, once again. just wrote about that already and ended up with Trump. Ah! not good. but: also ended up with the book I am currently reading, a handmaid’s tale, which leads me to my most favorite pastime of all times: reading. one problem though: there aren’t enough hours in a day to allow me to read all I want.

  2. “Oh, not again,” she moaned.

They watched as Kenny stood on his head in the middle of the hallway. She was getting tired of his daily stunts and having to get him back on his feet so he wouldn’t get fired.

  4. “But try not to force yourself, alright?” the director arched an eyebrow “We ain’t taking no risks to shoot this scene.”
All of a sudden she felt old and miserable. Never noticed the wrinkles at the corner of her eyes, never bothered covering those few white hair among her fluent ringlets. But now there it was, sharp and unmistakable. The proof she couldn’t do her stunts anymore. That she was becoming less flexible and soon her role would be assigned to other actresses.

  6. athletic ability comes to mind first. Cirque d Soleil comes to mind. But stunts also means good hearted pranks. I have always been too worried about consequences to engage in any real stunts

  7. she knew she couldn’t make the jump. she knew even before she stepped onto the platform, even before she smiled and waved and blew a kiss at the audience.
she was ready to give them a show they’d never forget.

  8. Stunts are almost always dangerous. You can do stunts on bikes, on ferris wheels, and even in grocery carts.

  9. The actor I hired told me that she did all of her own stunts. I was floored. Never before had a movie, with the kind of physical and emotional actions it demanded, had a star performer not have a stunt double. “Are you sure?” I asked.

She smiled. “If it’s too uncomfortable, I won’t. But I’m an Iraq veteran who did gymnastics for eight years before that. Just tell me what the expectations are, and I’ll see what I can do.”

  10. The flips and somersaults in the air made her nervous, even from her relative safety from the ground. She scanned the anxious crowd, most of the faces bright and mouths agape at the spectacle above them. Except one. Looking right at her.

  12. He slides down the muddy bank, not noticing the rents pulled in his jacket by sly brambles and malicious roots. His breath comes fast in his throat; soil tumbles down onto the body lying prone at the bottom of the ditch, making him think graves. Although he’s moving fast, this thought makes time slow and the tumble of memories makes him dizzy. Why did he goad her to do that stunt?

  13. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and… fall. A stunt drops and the world might as well have dropped with it. There, on the floor, limbs splayed and eyes wet, one girl knows her life is almost over.

  14. She loved stunts. Especailly the big ones. The ones that made people sit up and notice. And today? Today was her biggest stunt of all.

It wasn’t like the past ones. Those were small-game, easy, nothing but childish pranks. This, though…This would ge her name in the books for good.

  15. The Skeleton King flew down the ski slope with great ease. The cold didn’t bother him. No bulky coat prevented him from doing amazing stunts. That is, until he tried to do a 1080 on the superpipe. Luckily the pile of bones were able to reconnect themselves. Looks like he’d have to wait to meet Shawn White.

  16. executives AND stunts

    Dad to son handouts,
    EXECUTIVE decisions
    bias in business

    distant, and faceless,
    the cowardly nemesis
    of direct workers

    set wages too low
then expect more and more work
    to make sales grow

    often over-paid
    on a credentialed basis
    skill sets forsaken

    indirect “workers”
    before Undercover Boss
    wholly out of touch

    stressing, sudden deadline jumps
    false media STUNTS

    corporate mistakes
    cover-ups, lies, ruined lives
    company stock tanks

    repeat scapegoaters
when to blame for profits plunge
    lay off laborers

    high titles worthless
    irresponsibly selfish
