  1. One step from now, I’m king of the world. I see the greatest weapon in front of me. All my enemies dead. My allies are dead as well, but I finally have the power and no on can stop me now. Suddenly, I felt sleepy when I heard a very loud sound. Next thing I know, I see jail bars right in front of me.

  2. How ironic. I’m listening to a song with the word “step” in it when I just started this. Take one step at a time, that’s all we can do. Gambatte! It’s really daunting sometimes to just take that one step. Inch by inch, slowly, we creep forward. Footsteps echo heavily as we move on. To the future!

    Velociraptors make awful neighbors.

  5. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. That’s what they always tell me. But then again, I usually get excited over my goals that I take several steps at once, wanting to get to the destination as fast as possible. Lately, I have realized that sometimes, it is the journey that matters and not the destination. :)

  6. He didn’t hesitate to step out of the house in the middle of the night. What kind of parents kick their son out of their house just because they liked men? He held his head high, his hands clutching his belongings, hoping that this exit out of his house – the step he took – was an entrance to somewhere else.

  7. step up …. step down…kind of like glass half full or half empty…or step into the house…trip on the steps…stepping up in life..stepping up and taking responsibility. Take one step at a time…don’t miss a step…follow the steps…Step lightly

  14. I’m at a fork in the road. I can step out in any direction. But once I make that first move, I can’t retrace my steps.

One step backward is two steps wasted.

That worries me. If our lives are but a collection of the steps we’ve taken, I’d like to make sure that every single one counts.

  25. I stepped into a new dimension after I hung up from that phone call. I felt lighter; better. It was as if all the burden of holding you so close suddenly evaporated into the sky and I could hear it whisping away into the sky past my ears. But still. I still wonder what would the world be like if you did not say what you said.

  26. trace ur steps…take one more step…walk the mile…go the distance…take the long road back…keep pushing on…bear the load…face the race ahead of us…face the times ahead in life…step by step

  27. One step is easy. But people can’t just take one step at a time. It’s in our nature to look at the road ahead. The difference, the thing that really separates us from each other, is that some of us can see the end of the road, the goal, and move toward that. The rest of us see the road and are paralyzed with fear that we’ll only get halfway. I know which of those groups I fall into, and even though I’m straining my eyes to see the dot on that distant horizon, I can’t seem to move my feet.

But I can talk of steps in my life.
That have led me to strife.
    And now I must live,
beneath the weight of a knife.
And should I die, before I do,
I hope you learned the lesson that
    I failed to.

  31. He paused, and wondered whether he should step over the prostrate body, or ask whether she needed help. None of the others seemed to have paid her any attention. The fact that he had paused at all indicated that there was something different about him. And so, he bent down and offered a simple gesture of humanity. Down the hall a beer was cracked open.

  32. “Each step is fundamental to getting your life back together!” he exclaimed excitedly, shoving a bright yellow paperback with an old, smiling man in the front.
