When talking with a therapist, I’ve found it’s important to be as specific as you can possibly be. The trend these days is therapy over the phone–so many of us move around frequently now–and when she can’t see you, specificity becomes even more important.
all the information that comes to mind. color, shpae, texture, memories, floating out of my brain through my fingertips. giving as much detail as possible. specific. shade, honesty, ceasing to think attempting to record. leaving the world of vague, metaphorical understandings. Moving to a world… specific.
Its what I need when you tell me I’m wrong- specify an example. I can’t handle the vague “You always do…” answer. I need you to say “You left the light on this morning when you left the house.”
THE SPECIFIC STORY OF THE YEAR WAS WHEN HE PASTED. WE ALL REMEBER THAT DAY, IT WAS SUCH A SPECIFIC TIME OF DAY.

Being specific can show the beauty of what the writer is trying to convey. The reader will have a better understanding of what they are reading, and the writer will feel more confident in their writing abilities if they are being specific. Being specific conveys details that are needed to express what the point is. In a story, it can take you to somewhere different, mentally anyway.
I could be specific on the details of this story, but I have little time at the moment. I hope you are one of those rare folk, as I am, who can enjoy a random jumble of interesting words even if they make little sense.

Spefics seems to be a word teachers say to you to elaborate on a sentance. it’s not really fair because theres just so many things to be specific about. what if we dont have the brain capacity to think of a topic to be specific on?

And sometimes I just want to scream that I don’t get the difference between amps and watts and volts, and sometimes, that I don’t even care to understand it. But I listen and agree and nod my head, because I love him a lot.
There is no specifics in life, its all variables and involves much interpretation. Too much is left vague and we are left to our own judgements. more is needed, but less is much more interesting.
