“Just turn your head a little, slightly to the right and down”, he heard himself say. He had become too good at allowing them to believe he was fine. Allowing them to think he was his normal self. Confident and happy and so in love with his work, that he was excited by every snap of the camera lens. Yet everything seemed like a film now, slowly playing in front of his eyes, he still had the lead role, but his heart was no longer in it. His mind was somewhere else and only she knew where to find it.

She waked right past him. She walked right past him without even looking at him. She walked right past him without even looking at him and with a smile on her face as if she knew exactly what she was doing.

I felt I was coming down with a slight temp but I still wanted to go out and play. So I put on my shoes and coat and headed out with my friends. Oh no. It wasn’t long before I started to cough and sneeze. Cough and sneeze cough and sneeze was all I could do. I went back inside

Shivering slightly, she looked around her, trying to find the source of the mysterious cold air blowing in the room. Looking under the couch, she found none other than her neighbor’s dagger, dripping in blood. Gasping, she fell backwards, crawling away from the gruesome thing that caused her husband’s death.

She would not. She would not forgive him, it, whatever he though it might be, what she already knew, too well in the deepness of her pores, in the surface of her skin, cheeks that bled-blushed crimson. Half-rage, half-silent knowing dying. He had brought her down like a crumbling wall and now all lay bare, exposed, so desperately open.

His slight dig at her did not go unnoticed. He seemed to distain all southerners, especially smart, beautiful southern women, me in particular.

A slight banana fell slightly from the air. It was a very slight collapse. Slightly light.

It was slightly chilly outside. The wind was howling like a starving wolf, and the snow fell around me in flurries. The cold nipped at my fingers, despite the fact that they were covered with thick mittens. I rubbed my hands together to generate heat, and watched as my breath came out in clouds before me.
I stared up at the shiny buildings, towering over me, their lights glittering.

Why is this word ALWAYS slight…its getting on my nerves! How about an awesome word…like…BACON!

She bent slightly sideways. Something fell down next to her and she wanted to see, what it was. It was white and soft. And it purred. Must be something people used to call doves, she thought. Those I have read about. Once.

there is a not so slight difference between the advertised square footage and the actual square footage for the house my family were intending to buy.

There was something slightly different about her. The blank look in her eyes, revealing no emotions and not thoughts on the manner. And the eyes themselves; sparkling and green, they reminded me of x-ray scanners that would read me and all of my secrets.

It was the look in her eye that made me suspicious. She seemed to enjoy our company and acted pleasant all the while, but it was the slight glance now and then of distrust and superiority that made me question her friendliness.

The stick was cranked into the air and abruptly hauled down onto the ice. Once it made contact with the puck it went soaring towards the goalie. He raised his glove to catch the flying saucer, but to no avail. It sailed over his glove ever so slightly, and into the net.

Slight of hand, isn’t that what they say? It has something to do with card players or card tricks or people with butterfingers who drop things and catch them at the last minute. But it feels like the way I can’t hold on to you, the way I turn around and you’re gone even though I swear you were there a second ago. You’re a magician, you know that? With the way you keep tricking me into thinking that you’re going to stay.

There was another slight chance that today will turn out to be the most positive experience of my life. Or I hope I think so. The feeling of Friday mornings are bittersweet when one has a fast life to live before they transition to adulthood.

I feel slightly slighted when you catch me in your sight and sidle away,
and I feel increasingly insulted when you intentionally incriminate me and incarcerate my innocence.

I collapse on my bed, cocoon myself in the covers, and just lie there. Breathing. Thinking. Such an odd thing to do on a Saturday night. It’s already been 3 weeks since we last spoke, and he’s still all I ever think about. As each day passes, I continue to realize that I have less and less confidence in my ability to get over him. No confidence at all. Not in even in the slightest.

Her body was slight but her spirit was mighty. She struggled to speak, the oxygen maskhindering her ability to talk and force sound to come out of her mouth.
