  2. there was a shade above my window, i remember it being purple. my ex-boyfriend didn’t like it too much. he decided to break up with me because of this one little decoration. ridiculous, i know. c’est la vie, i suppose. soon i’ll find a man who respects my purple shade.

  5. I really don’t like the sun. It stirs up some ancient sickness inside of me, forcing my eyes to seek a patch of darker ground. My whole bordy yearns for the shade, for the relief of cold and dark. The sickness is not fooled so easily.

It was a sign that fall was coming, and the air was filled with scents of nutmeg and pumpkins.
