  1. The mast lay broken on the beach, little crabs inspecting it sideways. The girl was draped in white.

  2. The wind takes me away
As I sail upon tranquil waves
Only dark ocean meets the eyes
As I turn to say goodbye
    Cause it’s all already gone
    Another chapter ended
I’m out here and so alone
None of the wounds were mended
But now it’s all already gone
It is too late to turn back home
    I’ll wander and I’ll roam
Where the wind blows, I’ll go

  4. try to stop me setting sail on this; it won’t work. Watch my little boat of opportunities dip below the horizon line. I won’t know you in a year.

  7. Sail the salty blue caramel skies by the waning evening shimmer. My rowboat ripples the sunset, the mahogany oar sifting through amethyst puddles. The sky-cavern echoes with the sound of cloud breath and my little tiny sighs. I sail the seven skies, the whirlpool cloud-layer and the polar dream blue stratosphere and then the black black immense deep in time’s night, until I meet star-studded celestial shores. My rowboat is weary but I am so alive in this moment. My sturdy oar floats away to some other world and the space ocean lulls me to sleep under the cold stare of the moon.

  9. If I could sail away, I don’t know if I would. For a start, I don’t like the sea or anything in it. Secondly, imagine leaving your friends, family and little puppy dogs for a lonely adventure?! It would take someone very secure to do that. That person isn’t me.

  10. Sail’s keep you steady, keep you travelling in the right direction, keep you moving and ensure that you end up wherever you want to be. Sail’s have been partly responsible for many important discoveries, maybe we wouldn’t be living in our country if somebody hadn’t have used one.

  11. when the ship sunk and the endless serpent circled around it, it’s sail flailing in the ocean as the magnificent beast imposed it’s awesome size upon it. And the sailors trembled, watching this leviathan circling their vessel, knowing the end was to come, as the silver moonlight pillars streamed down from the water and cast down upon their faces.

  12. She was sailing, sailing, sailing, oh so far away.

He would never catch up with her. He, Tommy Willsmith, the little boy down the street, the apprentice of the cobbler, would never catch up with high-society heiress Lela Freeman. Ever. The night before–with their huge fight over whether she should return to her sick mother or not–had been the last, and she was off to Italy, off to strange new adventures.

    Lela had left him.

It wasn’t as if he hadn’t recommended it to her. He truthfully never had understood her hatred for her mother. He had attempted to get her to tell him of the story many times, but she had never informed him. Lela had out-right refused to return to her at first, but apparently her father had forced her.

Even from the port, Tommy could see the ship. He briefly wondered if she would miss him.

    He figured that she wouldn’t.

  13. She ran around the boat catching the light in her fingers. Stuffing it into her pockets and under her elbows and knees. The children would curl around her like new born puppies tonight and she would glow like an angel.

  14. Fly on the wings of the wind
Float through the waves of remorse
Paddle past the whirlpool of insanity
    Ford the rivers of despair
    And sail
    Sail to a halcyon land
    Sail to a brighter place
Sail toward the shining horizon of renewal
    Sail
    Sail
    Sail

  15. We never went anywhere on that old sailboat but we sure did make love on it.

  16. The blue moon lay in recline upon the foamy, spinning waves. It always amazed me how different the moon is from everything else in this world– it grows and shrinks but is steadier than any creation a human could imagine, staying true to its promise to be there every night, whether you see it or not. This night it

  17. I sat on my boat in the middle of a lake. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing, and there were seagulls. Lots and lots of seagulls. I hate seagulls.
