She walked like she had a purpose and, whatever it was, it was much more important than anyone else’s. Dark hair was slicked back like a teenage boy from the 1950’s, bumped in the front and duck tailed in the back. Her eyes were piercing. No one looked her in the eyes.
She saw the word, but for some reason she didn’t think about “purpose”, Instead, a picture of a porpoise popped into her head and she was immediately transported to the ocean. She found herself standing on a white beach with her feet in the sand, the warm, blue water gently washing in over her toes. Her hair whipped around her face and she reached a hand up to sweep it out of her eyes. She breathed in warm air and let out a long exhale. Then she opened her eyes and found herself sitting on her bed up in the loft of her apartment, still dreading the day ahead. Getting back to that beach, she thought, is my purpose.
I have only one way ahead. It’s when I have that path in focus that i feel life has dealt me a purpose. When will the future reveal the golden egg. It’s of no use without purpose

I’m worried about him today, doing such a brave thing, being himself fearlessly, and I realize I can’t protect him much anymore, mothers don’t have long to be that fortress against all the scary things in the world, all I can do now is love him, cheer from the sidelines, be there to celebrate or commiserate, my purpose is changing
I will not fall into the same traps that I made for myself before. I’m tired of wasting time; I did enough of that while I sat alone in my room with the lights out and the music up.
