  1. Lucky, rich and successful. And probably unaware of how lucky you are and how people who aren’t prosperous have it. Too bad.

  2. Gold filled the room, topped off with silver like a particularly suspicious mixed drink topped with foam.

  4. Sometimes things remind you of being prosperous. When I hear the word prosperous I think of the pilgrims. I don’t know why, because they were far from prosperous. They had a lot of trouble with finding the things that they needed. Don’t we feel like that sometimes? Like we don’t know what to do, or where to look for it?

  5. the city glowed with a golden light of the sun rise , and houses rose up from the city

  7. So many people feel like prosperity & success are synonymous. I measure my prosperity in so many different ways. For me, the only thing synonymous with being prosperous is being blessed.

  8. its what were all trying to be, are we successful? im really not sure. but all i can hope for is that i am, i want to do things with my life. i dont want to be dragged down by anything, or anyone getting in my way. ill always be, ill always do, and above all else i will rise to get what i want, and to do what i need.

  9. Being a writer isn’t prosperous. It’s not meant to be. At least, financially, it’s not meant to be. Creatively, you could have all the money in the world. Only instead of money, you have words. Lots of them. Locked in vaults of gold and carried around in checkbooks. Want to buy a story? I have plenty. That’s my prosperity. My spirit. And no matter how small of a paycheck I may get, I’m happy with my “annual income.”

  10. You’re on the top of the world when you’re making all the dough
    but you can’t look down
    or the go-go-go mentality fades
and you start seeing in shades of possibility again
    probability and then
then you start acting like everything you’ve wanted
isn’t all it’s cracked up to be
you start wanting people instead of money
    and then
    then, then again
you start wondering if it’s worth it to prosper
if that’s only fostering fading feelings
these dealings you can’t deal with
    when the end rolls around.
    Again.

  11. benefitting largely from something.

  13. Her husband had never been particularly prosperous – however, she had thought they were contented, as contented as they could be. The mill was not running at a loss, though the other Master’s looked on them with disdain as if they should be more wealthy, bleeding the workers dry and taking every last penny they could so they could only pay a paltry sum to the men, women and children who worked there.

  14. crazy, unimaginable for some.
what the hell are you doing? but is a tool for the genius.
and idea that is out of the ordinary.
something that the “crazy ones, the misfits the round pegs on in the square holes” come up with. often times prosperous things are just that, prosperous. but every once in awhile – they are revolutionary.

  15. The village was prosperous this year. And, Sarah knew, it was entirely—completely—do to her.

She strolled through the alabaster-white bushes, touching each gentle frond with rough fingers. This…

    This was all hers.

  16. The People were prosperous in that they always had plenty. They were prepared to share when the opportunity arose, but as far as I know no one has ever seen them. Perhaps this is why they prosper, because they need not worry about getting attached to material things.

  17. With our prime location, it wouldn’t be hard to rake it in — almost as good as putting a liquor store next to a church that hosts AA meetings.

  18. “Whoever you are, I’m not some prosperous old rich fuck’s son, if that what’s behind this whole charade!” Jensen growled from the floorboards of the van.

“Just shut your pie hole, you ungrateful wretch. You’re just a son of a bitch as far as I’m concerned,” came a sultry female voice, and then he felt a stabbing pain in his side as a boot jabbed harshly from out of nowhere.

  19. Propsero

  20. I wanted to be prosperous – not realizing the zen idea of “wanting” fulfills itself. I quit worrying about prosperity and have found my life rich with work, family, friends, a garden, blue skies, dark nights, full moons. Prosperity ebbs and flows, but remains in the perception.

  22. “Completely prosperous,” the war hardened blond general assured his smaller lithe companion. The smaller man’s jaw nearly dropped as the general bowed to a creature too large to be called a man. It was a being made of metal and spikes with dark strips across its body that opened up to a dark abyss within.
“I completely assure you, with our lord on the field victory is assured.” The General gently bopped the smaller man’s mouth closed as the metal beast–this ‘lord’–walked away. “And through victory peace.”
“Peace,” the smaller man repeated, wetting his lips. “Tha–that was–”
“Lord Angril, whom we all follow and love,” the General nodded. “Though on the battlefield the men all simply call him the ‘Hammer’.”

  23. I’ve no talk of prosperity to give you. I am an old man, and like every old man before him, I’ve seen very much. Unlike them, I will not go on about the “wisdom” I’ve gained, because I have none. I am but an old fool, who’s biggest achievement was to simply have the decency to stay and raise a family, even if it was against his very nature.

  24. I wish i knew what this word meant. Who knows? I always thought it meant something that is full or rich? Who knows, oh well. But this would have been a lovely story anyways. Sooo yeah. I’m off to a bad start :(

  25. One day, there was a prince in an Islamic kingdom. His troves of gold made many of his subjects think he was prosperous. However, little did they know that he was dissatisfied with his portion; to him, prosperity meant attaining all of the riches in the land. The servants knew better. Prosperity is being satisfied with one’s lot in life.

  28. Prosperous. When I hear that word, I immediately think of wealth. Of someone in a huge, beautiful room with lots of beautiful things, standing there looking beautiful, saying, “Well, I made it!” Can you be prosperous without being happy though? Because I can’t separate the two words in my mind. You can be wealthy and unhappy, but prosperous – that’s happiness.

  29. prosperity is subjective. it’s all a matter of opinion and what’s important to you. someone may be prosperous in terms of money if material wealth is what you value. for me, i consider myself to be prosperous when i’m surrounded by family and friends and love. because that’s all i need. because that’s what’s important.

His pockets are padded and his stomach full. He doesn’t care whatyou have to wsay and wouldn’t understand it if you explained. It stuns him when he encounters argument. The fly in the milk is a flat tire on his mercedes. It’s slow work, calling AAA

  31. it’s preposterous how prosperous some of us are how we swim in pools of money all by ourselves and loneliness is wiped away because possessions take its place but in reality that space can never be filled by anything other than love, compassion, and the companionship of others. so isn’t it preposterous how prosperous we all wish that we were?

  32. Prosperous? What’s that? I’m from a Third World Country. Here we don’t use the word prosperous, the only “P” word we know is poor. Horribly tragic I know, but it happens. People look down on us and it sucks but who cares..I’m just not meant to be prosperous.

  33. I hadn’t turned back once, I couldn’t believe time had caught up with me, and everything had come crashing to my feet just like that!
My job, my house, my family, all lost over one stupid mistake!
Stupidly thinking I was invincible, that I couldn’t loose that bet, that I could remain prosperous in this dog-eat-dog world.
