  4. Beethoven. profound is the closest thing to divine for me. profound is the possibility of a heaven or god or salvation or cycle and release. but it can also be what is very close to home. the things here on earth. a child’s attention. that childhood which we’ve left behind. autumn, spring, the sun shining through fields of barley, trees, flowers framing your face. it can be accomplishment and ones realizing that they are exactly where they should be. a sense of rightness, of perfection. it also can simply be that which is overwhelming. but to sum it all up, profound is that which is simple and yet, seems much more vague and vast and impenetrable – like space. or is it that its the other way around?

  38. Profound

It’s not difficult to be profound.

The word’s origins go back to the word Profundus, which means “Deep.” Actually Pro meaning “before” and “fundus” meaning “bottom.”

The question for me is, by “before” does that mean “as you approach the bottom from the top?” so “pro” is referring to the space right before you reach the very bottom? Or does it refer to a space *beyond* the bottom?

    Something beyond the bottom…

    Now that’s profound.
