tasty treat, carmel, stuck in my teeth, butter, crunchy. The treat popcorn is not one that i should eat. I do love to eat it when I am at the theatre. In fact, I know a person who will go to the theatre to purchase popcorn and go home to watch a movie.
Popcorn! I love going to the movies, mostly because of the popcorn. It always tastes better than the popcorn at home. Well, except for the time that Sara WAY OVER salted it. Then we had to get new popcorn. I also love popcorn because it fills my salty cravings but can actually be good for me. Amelia likes popcorn too.
today, my husband made a bowl of air-popped popcorn for a snack. it was less of a disaster than i was expecting, but there was too much salt. i got the air-popper as a bridal shower gift from my dear aunt m. she’s recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. i feel nostalgic about air-poppers in general- this one i see being a family prized possession.
“Popcorn!” Jaime skidded into the kitchen with the paper bag clutched tight between his fingers. “Dad, dad, dad!” He chirped. He danced around his parents in excitement, waving the sack with the popcorn kernels. “It was Aunty Suzy’s idea!”
“Calm down, squirt.” The older men bend down to scoop the kid up into a warm hug. “I haven’t see you all day.” He hugged him tight. “Did you have fun at Aunt Suzy’s?”
“Yeah and she gave us special popcorn!”
“Special popcorn?”
“Yeah. We need a popcorn popper tho, but an old one, not a real one!”
“An old-?” He reached for the sack and opened it. Understanding dawned at once. “Ah, well, we do have an old popper.”
I freakin’ love popcorn! It’s like one of the best snack in the whole wide world! I wish I had a lifetime supply of it. Seriously. I could eat popcorn AND corn on the cob all day. I used to have braces and couldn’t eat corn on the cob, that’s why I love it so much!

Quickly running to his aid, I helped him up and gave him my loose change and kissed his knee, wishing him to be better. He wiped his tears and thanked me and ran off to get more.
My favorite way to make popcorn is on the stove. I think that other people do not realize the importance of this method. It takes the popcorn from a mysterious experiment in a bag to something right before your eyes. It makes popcorn more than food.
I used to have a student who loved popcorn. His mother would send in microwave popcorn for us to use as a motivator, and every day we would share a bag. I looked forward to the combination of crunch and salt in the afternoon, to help us all get through the afternoon.

I love to eat popcorn…it’s fun and fluffy and a great snack. It reminds me of sitting and watching a movie. I also like it because it encourages sharing….who can eat the whole bag? I also love the flavors and kettlecorn…yummy…I see the timer is moving quickly ….I wonder if this is worth it? How does typing a simple word with a timer on the bottom work? Good question…..I do like that it allows you to finish the last sentence though because no one likes to stop….
