My favorite was staring. I would go to a public place and pick a good spot with an open field of vision, and then just cut loose with a long, unfocused gaze at nothing. I didn’t mind if people passed through my line of sight, but I never followed them. If I stared hard enough, I could feel invisible but heady, like the scent of honeysuckle.
i’m past the time of being where i was. there’s a string wrapped around my finger, a line that snaps with the weight of a big bass, my finger snaps to pass the time. it’s chomping on the snapped finger, famished, but i don’t need it anymore. there’s a big mouth bass staring at my knees, and that’s all the afternoon has shown me.
Ahh, pastime. I love to site on the couch on sundays, and get a cold Pepsi, some Cheetos, and watch the football game. That is my favorite pastime. I don’t see why Baseball is America’s favorite pastime, It should be Football. I mean, basball might have more followers, but football still has that spirit of the game.

My friend came to visit from out of town. He is trying a new pastime, fishing, so while here I decided to take him fishing at the local lake. He prefers fly-fishing so while he was doing that I was taking pictures of the lake with his fancy digital camera. I want a camera like his. Maybe I should take up photography as my pastime.

I mean, what mother would really truly be approving of a nineteen year old boy who spent his afternoons hunched down at his window, with binoculars, watching his neighbour undress? His male neighbour none the less.
like baseball. “like snow like gold.” brings us back to the youth and unknown. a time when shadows were far to big for us and trees were ever growing. when the worst of our worries was a scrape on the knee and there not being any bandaids. we all kinda want to go back to that time. but we’ve grown to accustomed to the now. perhaps our hearts will warm us to the idea sometime soon.

everyone should have two pastimes. One that they truly love, and one that they aren’t that familiar with, that they can learn to love as well. That way, you will never be bored with your life.

I’ve spent many days passing time..doing the most menial of things…thinking who has hurt me..who i have hurt. Why am I always alone or at least it feels like it…random stuff that doesn’t matter because I have a God that loves me.
As a hobby I collected the coins I found in my house. I now have over five hundred pennies, nickles, and quarters gathered over a period of 10 years. It’s amazing. The wealth I’ve accumulated could not be worth more than maybe 50 dollars, yet I feel that it’s all in all priceless. It is my pastime after all.
