he was engaged in his favorite pastime when he caught my eye. he had a drink in his hand and his toes in the sand and he was mumbling something about beautiful girls. when i got closer, i saw the drink was a margarita, saw him begin to lick some salt from the rim of the glass, but when he felt my stare, he froze, his tongue still out, his eyes rolled toward me, questioning. a year later i left him in much the same position, his question answered.

since i could remember baseball has been the pastime of the USA. i think its fucking ridiculous, baseball is a bunch of guys in pants to tight running around four mat thingys trying to score home runs. i think the true test is wheteher or not they can score. but they get sooo much pussy, i mean really? how come baseball players get the best ass?

an activity to pass the moments that are most difficult… like being bored almost to the death. Who knew that nothing to do could be so depressing? Must be why Voltaire advised us to “cultivate our gardens.”
Her favorite pasttime is dancing. Every time I see her, she’s twirling around, or trying to prefect her jump. If I can’t find her at her house, she’s at the dance studio a mile away. She doesn’t drive there, nor does she walk there, she dances to and from the studio, every day. It’s all she’s ever doing. Some say, dance is her one true love. I hope that it isn’t true, that some day, she’ll notice me the way I notice her.

Everybody should have a pastime. If you don’t you can go insane. My favourite pastime is hiking. I like the isolation, the challenge, and the adventure. I’m not an adrenaline seeker.

My favorite pastime is drinking milk. That’s not true I’m free associating. I actually can’t think of my favorite pastime because I’m watching the green bar move slowly across the screen. It’s stressful to watch. My favorite pastime is cooking.

My favourite pastime is mailing things. Nothing in particular, just whatever turns up on my lawn that morning. I once posted a cat. I’m not sure if was alive or not when it arrived at its destination. I think that’s a question best answered by physicists
My favorite pastime has always been thinking. It happens to be one of the lost pastimes in the United States. Reason and logic are no longer popular, rather empathy and heart have taken their places. Sad really, I miss a thinking public.
Pastime… something to occupy the time. Yup, got those. In fact, too many of those! Well, no, not really. That way I can prepare gifts for friends and family at a fraction of the cost. And they can be useful things ’cause I can work things like wood. Wish I could work metals too.
a favorite pastime of the campers was to drive the kids to the dump to watch the black bears eat. moving closer with cameras, i would become aware how close they came between and good picture and a bad memory.
I count the notches in the stick, I chafe against the unseen harness that yokes me to others goals. I breathe and smile, but it all feels like a pastime until I get to the real essence. I know that I have to create that reality, but even breathing takes so much effort now.
