  1. is the colour of my true love’s eyes, in the morning when i rise, that’s the time to move on out. I don’t much enjoy orange except in contrast to other colours like purple for example, which is a much better colour altogether and its a fruit more enjoyed in the imagining than the peeling.

  2. Orange can bring such great expressions to my face and heart, when I see it mixed together with my favorite season of fall with the leaves falling to the ground.

  3. One hand tied behind his back
    in vitamins his body lacked
a sailor on the open sea
grabbed a fruit from no nearby tree
as it rolled on the table to and fro
he clutched the fruit firmly but lo
he could not indulge in this tasty snack
with one hand tied behind his back!

He thrashed against the rope binding his wrist
he bowed and banged and did the twist
but his appendage could not be freed
so he remained in dire need
he rubbed the porous skin, alas!
without two hands what an impossible task
to get to the juicy sweet inside
his hunger came rolling like the tide!

He pitied himself for his horrid fate
to be denied fruit in such a state
the scurvy will come, make no mistake
but rind cares not what lives are at stake!
in its skin he could make no schism
so he held onto it in his masochism-
the same as to write a poem of a fruit with no rhyme
he might as well have held a lime

  4. The ASL way for orange, both the color and the fruit, is where you make a loose fist and squeeze at the bottom of your chin. The oranges at my college are always gross man. I can’t eat them they’re unripe and nasty and I wish they weren’t, it makes me so weary of oranges everywhere. I have orange PTSD. Can I die from nasty tasting oranges? Let this be my suicide note.

  5. Oh lover of mine, tell me how did I sin
Did you want for sweet orange
    But instead found bitterness
Oh lover of mine, do you realize
I loved it when your eyes would speak
On the forms of love that I really need
Oh lover of mine, it’s the oddest thing
To twist out of the skins I left at sea
To shift into spaces I must still see

  6. Orange wow that’s your color. The color you wore the last time you came over. Te Amo, I really can not wait to read this in a couple of years and see what reaction it sparks in me

  7. She peeled the skin away and let the citrus hit her halfway up her nose. She was instantly awake. She jogged in place a bit while she shucked the peel away and then sat gently on the ground and ate each wedge with relish. Who knew it would taste so good? Who would have thought it?

  8. My mom died one day when she ate an orange. The doctors could find no trace of the poison that I am sure unjustly stole her away from me, but something’s wrong. I know they must be lying to me. They have to be. She can’t have just…died.

  9. They’re beautiful and round, and you can eat them. Everyone loves them, adores them, even, except for me. I’m practically persecuted for my intense dislike of this circular fruit.

  10. Oranges are so good. their are my fav food ever.

  11. We walk down the sidewalk among the crowd. Scents drift upwards. All I can smell is the orange rind garnishing your beverage.

Remember that time? Petty women were behind us engaging in some sort of half drunk conversation, one more far gone and the other barely buzzing.

I was distracted. Annoyed by the comments of a jealous woman trashing the women around her for how they dressed, truth be told, the other women were prettier.

You said something, totally ignoring it all, that I’ve since long forgotten. I just remember your presence by my side. It was calm. Or maybe I was projecting this upon you because it’s what I wanted more than anything in that moment – to feel as at peace with scent of an orange rind pleasingly rising with the breeze.

  12. The smell of citrus filled the room. She could not put her finger on it or rather her nose. Where was the sent coming from? Was she the only one responding and reacting in such a way that she feels fully alive.

  13. I love the color orange. It is the color of the sun in the afternoon on the horizon. Oranges are also one of my favorite fruits.

  14. Orange is the colour I wouldn’t want to see in my wardrobe. And it is the one colour that occupies most of my wardrobe. Ugh.

  15. One hand tied behind his back
in vitamins his body did lack
A sailor on the open sea
grabbed a fruit from no nearby tree
as it rolled on the table to and fro
he clutched the fruit with his free hand but lo
he could not indulge in this tasty snack
with one hand tied behind his back!

He thrashed against the rope binding one wrist
He bowed and banged and did the twist
but his hand could not be freed
so he remained in dire need
he rubbed the porus skin but alas
without two hands it was an impossible task
to get to the juicy sweet inside
his hunger came in like the tide!

He pitied himself for his horrid fate
to not be able to devour many fruits in this state
in its skin he could make so schism
so he held onto the fruit in his masochism-
the same as to write a poem of a fruit with no rhyme
he might as well have ate a lime

  16. She bit into the peel, its strange zest spilling and popping all over her tongue with its rough ridges–the orange peel’s or her tongues? yes–and she sucked her little earth dry and grinned a tangerine grin with bright blue eyes and sunburn hair and swallowed.

  17. i hate the color orange. i do love the taste of it on my tongue as it bursts.
artificial orange is a disaster and always too tart.
a deep, burnt orange suits me, but anything else looks horrid.
i still love the smell of a fresh orange peel

  18. The orange felt squeechy. I wondered how long it had been sitting in the bowl. The fuzz around the butt of the bottom and what was left in the bowl gave me a little insight into the length of its stay. Though I was hungry for the sweet taste of nectar, I was not that hungry. I had to do what I felt in my heart was only the right thing to do and that was to cut it up into small pieces and let it drop into the garbage disposal and use it for room freshener. I just could not get over the fuzz.

  19. ‘Should you need anything, just call.’ She started to turn, then stopped. ‘It is the orange button, not the red, you need to use. It comes straight through to me. Red can easily be misunderstood.’

She did turn now and opened the door to leave. ‘We’ve had so many problems lately,’ she said. ‘So many broken windows and doors, that it has been hard to keep up with repairs.’

From the corridor she turned to face me. Any evidence of worry was gone, she stood straight will a full smile and in her quiet courteous voice said: ‘As you can understand, we would like to deal with problems in-house, where possible.’

  20. Rounded, and weird looking, this sweet thing gives us this beverage that tastes weird after using toothpaste. But hey, pretty refreshing and flu fighter, I love it with chilli and some salt.

Orange tangerines are so sweet and juicy. maybe tangerines are not oranges?

  26. fallen rays
    dissipate
    in the aftermath
    your love

    they bound me

    wish

    of days
    past

    in the sun
    your hair glowed

    a color, of
    orange

  27. I think that oranges were discovered before carrots.

    “Hey, what are these?”

“Those are orange, so we’re gonna call them oranges.”

    “Okay cool, what about these?”

    “Oh shit….long pointys?”

  28. The suit he wore was blue, and the necktie he had captured in a Windsor knot was orange. Complementary colors, I grant you, but the orange was so damn florescent that it almost glowed like a sunset – and not a warm one, either. I almost shielded my eyes when he walked into the office, grinning between bites of a maple old-fashioned doughnut, his cellphone already chiming repeatedly with new texts and alerts from his clients.

  29. There was one shade of orange that she loved. She put on a fun, coral summer dress and walked out into the ocean breeze. Feeling her hair and dress dancing in the breeze gave her a sensation that is incredibly hard to match.

  30. There’s a huge orange orchard in my backyard. I’m at the farm house of my great grandfather. They say he walks these orchards on moonlight nights, smelling the fragrance, reveling in the cold breeze and singing songs of the dead.

  31. ´ The fridge is full of orange and the aroma is so good´, said the chef
´I will make the orange into a substantial sauce´replied the assistant.
