  2. maroon 5. makes me think of c. their song “misery” is one of “ours.” so many things are ours now. and no matter what comes, nothing that’s “ours” can be taken away from us. that gives me hope and strength. we are “us” and nothing can change that!

  3. Maroon is often misread, initially, as ‘moron’. Which leads me to wonder; Do we have preconceived notions or are we just innately negative. It reminds me of my parents’ first car, so it’s happy for me.

  4. lust!

  5. maroon all the sad and poor aims.

  6. do you have another word for me this one is rather boring to write about? Could be another word like horakapochkin although incorrect in spelling that would entice interesting vocabulary from the writer, not colour and feeling associated with that colour as these are quite uninteresting.

  7. Maroon was her favorite color, which was disgusting. But her taste matched her drapery, her furnishings, her furniture, and her wardrobe. All of it was maroon and sour.

  8. Maroon, I thought it said something else at first :) Yes that is not really creative but thats what I thought when I first saw it!

  11. THe color that Ronald Weasley hates, even though his mum is always sending him sweaters in that color, funnily enough.

A shade of purple that is light-ish, one of my favorite color. Lighter than violet, but darker then magenta…i think.

    by Allison on 07.07.2011
  12. I have meet many of these types of people, and worked with some. But thankfully I do not live with any. Though many live in NY, when I was there I heard them call each other this many times.

  13. a colour that reminds me of women in there 50’s and 60’s. It’s kind of like a dark red and it is knee length skirts and blouses. If you like maroon that’s ok that’s what it reminds me of.

    by Shan on 07.07.2011
  14. the colour of my old school uniform, ugly!! almost like macaroon but not! I like that we can make moon out of maroon. and the little ones say room.

  16. In Harry Potter, Ron always got a maroon sweater from his mom on Christmas. I wonder why Harry didn’t trade with him, because I think Harry could pull of a maroon sweater. Anyway, Ron’s mom should know better, because she’s a ginger too, and gingers and maroon are not the best combination.

    by LizLiz on 07.07.2011
  17. five is a band that i used to like a lot, but now i don’t because they’re too mainstream. Adam though still has an awesome voice and is really talented and oh, did I mention sexy? I have their quotes from a song, well i guess it’s more like lyrics written on my door. Damn, that was good music video.

  18. Maroon is an obnoxious color. It’s the perfect mix of red and purple to drive you mad! Women who wear maroon nail polish, I’ve noticed, seem to wear no other colors. It’s deep enough to be depressing, and not red enough to be exciting at all.

  19. maroon 5 the coolest band, reminds me of rocky river maroon and white night. i miss rocky river i always wanted to be apart of the at environment where everyone just loved sports and i fell like thats what i missed leaving. but im glad i did because now i have kevin :) and he is the besssstt thing everrrrrr <3 now i know ive said that before but this time, im not even hesitating. its amazing

  20. Stuck on a deserted island, one would realize they are marooned. I believe being stuck on a deserted island would be relaxing, but then i’d probably die from a lack of food and water.

    by Liz on 07.07.2011
  21. maroon, in harry potter ron weasely always got annoyed that his mother made him a maroon sweater for christmas. he hated that color apparently. i don’t think i blame him, if i was ginger i think i would stay clear of that color for life. it would clash too much.

    by korrina on 07.07.2011
  22. Is a dark red color that is red and brown mixed and is slightly darker then red. Some call it dark pink. Its an ugly color. I do not like maroon. The color reminds me of bloody shit. Um yea maroon. Hmmm Still writing about an ugly color. Yup this color freaking sucks. I dont know why I am writing this. Omg time needs to ennnnnnnnnnndddddddd. I will forever hate Maroon even more….

    by Nichole on 07.07.2011
  23. It’s an ughy color- the color of Ron’s christmas sweaters. But it’s also a word that can be desolate….being stuck with nowhere to go. It’s the kind of word that reminds you of those days where it’s grey and rainy, and you don’t feel like doing anything.

    by Jazz on 07.07.2011
  24. it’s a kind of color. purplish. it’s deep and mysterious. it looks like wine. i think i have a shirt that is maroon. i always get compliments when i wear it.

    by Em on 07.07.2011
  25. I remember thinking his maroon sweater was too hot for the spring weather. It was the kind of day that slipped up on you unexpectedly, chill in the morning but rife with sunlight that began to melt off of the air in great slabs by the afternoon. It illuminated the shards of glass stuck into the cement of the pavement and the grass in all of its equally pewter glory, robbed of color from the winter freeze.

  26. I love Harry Potter. I should be a Gryffindor. Then I can wear maroon and gold and be a lion although i see myself as a wolf or a fox instead.

  28. Maroon. Is maroon a color? I think it is. I know there is a band called Maroon 5. I don’t really listen to them, but I know a few of their songs.

Actually, me and my friend have this joke going. Okay, imagine a dude face fucking the shit out of this chick. I mean really going to town, gagging and pushing on his thighs. But it’s in slow motion, and Maroon 5’s song “She Will Be Loved” is playing. Hahahah, that’s fucking classic.

  29. Maroon reminds me of Maroon 5, the band. It also sounds remarkable close to macaroon, which I think is a funny-sounding word. Maroon and silver is a nice color combination. It would look good for a sports team. Maroon is also the color of garnet, my first-born’s birthstone. It’s interesting that you can be marooned on an island while wearing a maroon jumpsuit. As Bugs Bunny says, “Don’t be such a maroon!”

  30. I like the color maroon it is a combo of pink and dark red.. it reminds me of the heart love and makes me feel good inside.. another reason is I like the band maroon 5 they play really good music.. sometimes color and music together makes a really bad day just go away.

  31. The belt was an old, worn, maroon leather. Sally looked at it with a bemused fascination. S.M.S., it said.Whose had it been?

  32. There’s a moment where the blood on your hands turns from a lively red to a dead maroon. It’s not instant, but it isn’t gradual either. It hangs outside of the human perspective, only to be revealed in hindsight, almost like it never happened at all.

  33. At first I saw “macaron,” and then realized that it was the color “maroon.” Then I thought of how in French, you have “les yeux marons,” not “les yeux bruns.” This is how my mind works. I avoid thinking about the color, because maroon is ugly. And my French isn’t so good either.

  34. Maroon five.

good god. all over again I pulled back in my cd player, turning it back to the same “CD setting” I’d had it on an hour before.
I came to the conclusion that Maroon 5 was my antidrug. The music to keep my mind off of everything, taking my head and heart back to the original feelings I once had for music.

  35. it is a color that is darker than red. but it looks more sophisticated than red. it is the red that catches attention but isn’t flashy doing so.

  37. At first I saw “macaron”, and then realized that it was the color, maroon. And I thought about in French, how you have les yeux marrons, instead of les yeux bruns. This is how my mind works. I think about all the things except the real color, because I don’t like the color maroon.

  39. The color of rusty love. A deep seeded love that transcends time. The passion of Gryffindor, the utility of clay, and the splendor of kings.

    by Charlie Hall on 07.07.2011
  40. “Maroon. Such a beautiful color. Not a beautiful word,” the male thought dryly to himself, looking around at the island he was now ‘marooned’ on. His ship had wrecked, and now he was left for some undeniably painful death on an island he had never heard of or seen before in his life. It was going to be a long three days until he died of dehydration.

    No hope.
