  2. honestly magazines are almost the vain of my existence I’ve spent my whole life thinking i’m not good enough because of unreal expectations created by media rooting from magazines. With their too thin models and all i’m surprised my generation isn’t screwed up, oh, wait, it is.

  3. Invest your time in other people’s lives! Swallow through menial stories of celebrities being archived in cheap loud paper, people wasting their own life to record a millionaire’s.

  4. time stealing information. keep me interested far beyond my capacity to keep. what to do with all of them? what to save, what to throw away? how to file? when to read? too many questions, too many answers!

  5. I want a magazines. You look cool if you have it in your hands. Makes you seem like a avid doer, that is, if you have an obscure copy like puppies monthly or rv for hicks. If you have people or time or something youre probably superficial or a poser. Read to learn and to grow. If you read time or people then I have nothing against you

  6. Stacked high on the bedside table, the magazines formed an almost impossible leaning tower to rival that in Pisa. If just one more slip of paper was laid on the top, the whole tower would come crashing down like a jenga mess, and scatter magazines all over the floor,

  7. No one touched the magazines. The children didn’t see them, maybe because they didn’t appear on a screen, they had no conception of them, their awareness of print frozen by the fast-flashing medium.

  8. people read magazines for fun, something to do when bored, to find information and to learn new things. i love fashion magazines, and i’m currently addicted to finding new recipes. i used to cut out beautiful pictures and create collages on my wall when i was a teenager. beautiful people, clothes, art, words of wisdom, inspiration for daily life — almost anything really! now i use magazines to unwind. it’s a shame that magazines are so expensive, because now the only time i get to read them is when i borrow them from other people.

  9. Fashion articles. Perfect models. Love doctors. Advice columns. Business mags. Stock market. Photography. Companies. Millions. Industry.

I want to look like that that think like that and dream like that they all look better than me. I read to get away. I read to educate. I learned to read. What am I reading look at me and these glossy pages.

  15. When I was younger, reading magazines seemed so exciting to me. I loved reading about celebrities lives and drama, everything that was so irrelevant to my life. Although nowadays, I don’t even pay any notice to them anymore. I wonder what was so intriguing about them before.

  16. Deft fingers
    They flick the soft pages
    Flip, flip, flip
    Bold colors and eye-catching pictures
They attempt to seduce the eye
    But flick, flick
    The fingers flutter the pages
    Unable to resist
    The temptation of
    Unseen pictures ahead.

  17. Bullets, powder, rifles.
The magazine is permeated with the ozone smell of battle. For now, it is silent, but at a moment’s notice I will leap to my feet to do battle.
The peace and quiet is what draws me to the room where I do war.

  18. Deft fingers
    They flick the soft pages
    Flip, flip, flip
    Bold colors and eye-catching pictures
They attempt to lure you in
    But flick, flick
    The fingers flick the pages
    Unable to resist
    The temptation of
    The unseen pictures ahead.

  19. There were six magazines lain out on the floor of the bathroom, all from 2003. I didn’t know why they were still there, or why they were in such pristine condition. The covers were still glossy, the print clear and untarnished. Even the pages were like they had never been turned.

I picked up one magazine and ran my palm against its surface. On it was a picture of an actor who had never made it that far. He had a smile and lots of stubble.

  22. The people on the cover stare back at you, judging you. With their perfect hair. Their perfect bodies. They’re unblemished faces. Their flawlessness staring right back at you. You close your eyes, trying to catch a break from the thoughts captivating your mind. You finally can’t take it anymore and throw the magazine at your door, sick of comparing yourself to someone who isn’t even there.

  23. I don’t really like magazines any more. After working at Walgreens for 2 years I’ve read every little bit of trash that there is out there. Every once in a while I find an interesting mag that I really like, but really I much rather read a book or a comic! :D

  28. I don’t like them very much. I think with the creation of Google I can find pretty much anything I need to know about gossip on the internet… so why would I go buy a whole bunch of weird feeling plastic paper bound into a lying novel. I don’t think it’s for me, and the magazine is ok with this relationship.

  30. Many people enjoy magazines because it gives them a break from their boring lives and into those of the famous. Mostly they like to see what they don’t have and complain about it later. They feel like they are less fortunate because they don’t have a yacht or something ridiculous.

  31. I sat in silence, staring at the pile of magazines in front of me. It was a huge pile, far too many magazines. As if I could read all those before I was seen too. The Doctor looked over at me as he entered the room. It was me, I was next. The lump I’d found seemed larger then ever.

  33. Some people really need magazines, and I just don’t understand that. I’ve seen all the magazines on the self in the stores, I’ve seen them in the line of the grocery store. People, Cosmo, In Touch, and whatever else they’ve got. I laugh most of the time when I see them; why do people find satisfaction reading about shotgun weddings, celebrity houses, plastic surgery, weird little dogs in purses, bullshit. It’s alllll bullshit.
Magazines drive me out of my mind.

  34. This word makes me think of the song “She don’t Use Jelly” by the Flaming Lips. I like to read magazines if I’m waiting on the doc or hair stylist. Or if something on the front cover catches my eye while in line at the grocery store.

  35. if i was like those girls in magazines
    would you call me beautiful
would you whisper in my ear
    and hold me close
and wrap your arms around me?
would i be yours and only yours?
would you be mine and only mine?
if i was like those girls in magazines
    would you love me?

  39. They clattered to the floor hollowly.
“Oh no,” she said, voice tight and face going startlingly pale. The empty magazines glinted eerily in the moonlight. “I’m all out of bullets.”
A chorus of unearthly howls from somewhere in the darkness was her only reply.

  40. Erika tossed another magazine onto the pile and sighed, reaching her arms up into the air, stretching her back. She then grabbed the remote and turned on the TV, meaning to keep herself awake, meaning to wait up. But when Gavrouche finally shuffled into the apartment his wife was curled up on the couch, breathing evenly.
