  19. I’ve loved and lost a lot of things in my short lifetime. And everyday It pains me to notice what I have loved and lost. Everyday is a constant reminder of what has gone, what is past, what I lived for. Everything goes away in the end. Loved ones, family, even your favourite hobbies are destroyed. Everything you thought you were is eaten away, by people, by the world, until you become an annoying breathing existance who has nothing to give, simply because they’re too afraid to give it away. Yes, I am afraid.

  23. there is a fire that consumed the palace in the night and no one saw the orange and red and yellow and no one felt the heat.
everyone slept through it, the fire in the night.
only the queen felt her crown was melting from rooms away, and when she got there, the soles of her feet were raw, the meat and bone of the queen, in the fire in the night.
and she said, ‘dear me,’ as she saw her melting crown, as she saw a pool of gold, another shade of yellow, with a glimmer and a richness, in the fire in the night.
she tried to collect the pool of gold in her hands in the fire in the night, scooping a molten treasure up and trying to gather it in her nightgown. soon the gold had frozen in the crevices of her fingerprints and then she used her mouth to save the crown, this molten crown. the queen, with the crown swimming in her stomach, in the fire in the night.
long live the queen, another shade of yellow in the fire in the night. long live the queen, who was the fire in the palace in the night.

  26. I’ve experienced quite a few losses in my life- love, life, pets. The list goes on and on, really. Among the most severe was my great aunt Jemima. Not everyone gets close to their great aunt, but I had the wonderful opportunity to get to know one of the most thought-provoking people I’;ve ever met to this day. Aunt Jemima loved to garden, and drink scotch while she did so. She was a rather dirty hoe, if you’ll excuse my French.
