  1. the hook was easy… give them a bit of time with the game, and let them think they could win.

    afterward, when they are putting down money right and left, you do a bit of a switch up, and they’ll continue to accept losing, not realising what you’ve done–that you’ve changed the rules to suit you.

    it worked for years for james…until he met laura… who knew the hook, the set up and the game far better than he did. by the time she was done, he’d lost his money, his car and his heart.

  7. It wasn’t a large hook, but rather the opposite. In fact, it wasn’t almost a hook at all, but a barb. but it was just enough to snare him. He didn’t even feel it at first, and he definitely didn’t feel how it would alter his course, his tadertory, his plans and his dreams.

  8. I was hooked when I saw it. It was a little roll-out piano, that could be hand-folded into a little bag. It was genius. The troubles of having to look for a local ground piano wherever I traveled were gone forever. I couldn’t believe it. It was as though the trials and tribulations that come with giant, immobile musical instruments had vanished. I was hooked.

  9. i wish i had a hook. i’d put my maths teacher on it and watch him suirm as i dangled im over a tub of acid. Then he wouldn’t set so much fucking homework. i hate it so much. i mean i can do some of the questions but the sheer volume of the work at once just switches my brain off.
